When we lost to the playoff final to Doncaster, you'd expect with keeping our best players and a settled environment to win promotion in 2009. Now I know he didn't complete the full season (so can't predict with full confidence what would have occurred), but we looked well off doing that. Massive underachievement.
It does but one point I think people are forgetting. Cellino has said McD was massively overpaid on 750k a week and I agree. Clearly the next contract will be far smaller money and likely a twelve month contract given Cellinos record of switching coaches. Will such a contract be enough to tempt Gary Mac I wonder?
£750K per week He was on £39M a year - thats more than what Messi, Ronalda, and Bale get combined - no wonder old Potato head was such a nice bloke
I think McAllister would settle for half as much as McDermott was on and do a better job. Still works out at £30k a month so not too shabby
Adam Pope said he would be paid a much smaller sum 250k max which if you are out of work is more than tempting
Not sure how I feel about this. I remember when he was in charge last time speaking to a mate of mine. We were both of the opinion at that time that GMac was the right man at the wrong time. Things then went spectacularly wrong. Personally I would like to see Grayson get another crack of the whip
But Grayson is not currently unemployed so would probably be a more expensive option for Cellino with having to pay compo to preston
I was speaking more in a hypothetical type of way, however, I am not sure that it would break the bank to release him from PNE
Gary Mac is not a coach who can take us up ... he failed miserably at Lge One level ... comparing McDs tenure to his is laughable, as McD had to try and stabilise a CLUB in turmoil, no leadership from the board, public spats with potential investors, a huge FOR SALE sign outside the front door, a megalomaniac Italian trying to get Festa in to replace him ... look, Cellino WILL NOT stick his hand in his pocket and invest £20m into the team to help us push on, he is going to play wait and see so is no different to Bates or GFH ... the biggest worry is this "coach" nonsense, because he WILL interfere with selection and tactics, and its going to have a negative effect on the club "For the sake of Leeds United he would break himself in two"
Have to agree to disagree, not sure I want Gary back but give me him over Mcd who was out of his depth any day. I don't see anyone rushing in to snap up Mcd now that he is a free agent, when they do I expect it to be a League 1 team as that is his capacity.
Grayson did well for us at the time. I think by the end though we all realised that he had some major weaknesses as manager, I truly believe he took us as far as he could've done.
ASI said Mckay bought some very poor player sand heres the proof Cornelius cost 10m played 87 minutes all season scored as many as HUNT Brayford cost £2.5m played 2 games! Odenwingie cost 2.5m scored 2 goals So that's 15m on rubbish makes our Brian look good
correct 60 ... Malky lost his way badly, probably waiting for the Norwich job to open up "For the sake of Leeds United he would break himself in two"
