    I guess it is standard practice for FIFA to pay the associations direct as each association will split the money differently. I think I am right in saying that each association/country gets a certain amount depending on where they finish and will spend this as they see fit. I can't see what FIFA can do as any bonus payments are surely between the player and their association.


    Its shocking the level of corruption at international level but I guess the poorer countries don't have a multi billion £ TV contract to help swell their coffers.

    Well there is quite a lot they could do as the governing body, but we all know why they don't

    I watched a documentary on Nigeria where bribes were widely accepted as part of the salary and the cost of some services(not always illegal). Pretty similar to tipping

    England just getting off bus in Brazil. Most players are hanging around getting bags from luggage compartment....Rickie has just jumped off the bus and gone straight into the hotel carrying all his worldly goods in a white plastic bag<laugh>

    You may be right as he is not being spoilt by Saints any more...probably waiting in the hotel asking where is his personal bed with bedding specially washed in the same fabric conditioner.

    Being eaten alive by envy, jealousy and lots of other unattractive features. I too could have been an England player....just little things like gender, talent, and application stopped me. Still off to Majorca tomorrow to cheer me up :)
