Which person has caused most damage to Charlton AFC over the past 10 years?

Richard Murray - well intentioned but far too many mistakes
Iain Dowie - spent our £15m of premiership survival money on utter cack
Alan Pardew - concentrated on his own best interests rather than the Club's
Airman Brown - stroking his own ego by divulging confidential information that he had no right to
Chuckle Brothers - started off very well but ran out of Mr Cash
Roly Douchbag - seems intent on making us just another 'Euro Sports Club' with no local identity
    A N Other - suggestions?

    <cheers>

Think Richard Murray simply undid everything he helped to build, Pardew just came in with no remorse ruined the spirit and heart of the club.

Bulletin boards, fans, and fans' organizations have minimal influence either way.

The fact is it has been impossible to break even running a Championship club for many years now, And now clubs are not allowed to run at a (significant) loss either.

We are totally reliant on very rich men who are willing to flush their own money down the toilet. I don't blame RD for being less willing than his predecessors. Just wonder why the hell he has got involved at all. To have an academy successful enough to run at a profit, you have to have a viable first team. No bright youngsters are going to join a club sliding down the leagues. And that will cost a lot more than he will ever make out of the youth system. How long before he realizes his mistake?

    One common theme

    - who employed Dowie & Pardew as manager, and allowed them to spunk millions up the wall ?

    - who employed Airman, and allowed him to bus in all of those plastic supporters from Snodland & Sheerness on free coaches ?

    - who sold to the Chuckle Brothers, exhibiting the due diligence of a one eyed flea

    - who is Duchatelet's official 'voice to the fans'

Rather than blame one person, this is how I read interpret the breakdown.

Murray did have good intentions. With regards to Dowie, it was 6 of 1, half a dozen of the other in regards to if he was employed Jordan. At that time, Iain Dowie did have a strong reputation within football - if it wasn't where we took him from then I think the decision would have been more favorable with fans.

Afterwards - he made a popular decision in Pardew and with relegation seemed intent to try and rectify his mistakes. The problem was, he was so desperate to ammend the situation he was going against everything that had previously made him one of the best chairmen in the Premier League.

I think he was the largest of contributors if you had to push me for an answer. I think he knows that too.

I don't think Slater and Jiminez should be on the list either. We didn't like the communication aspect of them, but they took us on, got us promoted, and even without the investment we hoped for they still gave CP a squad strong enough for the Championship - though padded out with loans throughout the corse of the season.

I had to vote Pardew because the way he wasted the money from parachute payments and D.Bent sale, we should have mounted a better challenge then we did, but I guess Andy Reid sale contributed to the downfall.

Dowie, Pardew bought crap and failed in the championship. Only saving grace for Pardew is that he brought in an assistant who stopped the rot and didnt get us relegated from League One.

Dowie was crap...total crap, and is the only manager I would punch if I saw him

Quite a few choosing managers, but I still believe the responsibility lies with the board, Murray was the ultimate decision maker, and he employed Dowie & Pardew...

Pardew. Despite the cack, we would've stayed up under Dowie. Pardew Killed the club with loan after loan, the spirit died.

I can honestly say I never once sang Super alan pardew. I couldn't wait for him to go. I mean, what sort of man spits on another man? Absolutely disgusting. Might have been the popular choice with some, not with me. Blamed the fans when we lost, just as he did later at Newcastle. Also slagged us off for applauding Deano when he returned with WBA. As Mike says, complete tosser.

That's a big claim. I think Pardew did improve the team when he came in, and at least made our relegation from the PL respectable, whereas under Dowie I fear it would have been embarrassing. It was after that when the he signed the hoards of useless loanees that killed the club.

Pardew by a nose for me.

Throwing the Bent money up the wall on tosh and then sprinkling his poorly assembled squad with a succession of bad loans was unforgivable. I do not think you can really blame Murray for this. Yes he appointed the bloke, but he was always going to back him in the transfer market, thats what Chairmen do for their managers (or at least they did back then!)

Murray is not completely blameless and would run Pards a close second.

None of that list are blameless.
