    9.45pm kick off I believe.

    Wonder if Figueroa will play?

Can't see us not winning this.

If a thread has already been started for this, my apologies.

Thanks Ernie, for some reason they had edited the bit about Bruce (and Wenger putting in a word to him about Palacios, which was a surprise) out of the paper edition.

Makes you realise the traumatic backgrounds some of these lads come from - we have no idea.

Just about to leave for Miami with my wife looking forward to the game haven't seen England live for ages. Three hour drive then watch the game and spending the night in a arty farty hotel. Can't wait.

Sounds great! Have you got a city flag to look out for?

Is this still in that half empty stadium in Miami?

Believe so, but being a later kick off time and on a Saturday, perhaps more of the locals will make it.

O/T does anyone know why they are ****ing about in Miami and not in Brazil getting properly acclimatised to the region they will be playing the WC in??

It's pretty similar in climate - almost identical temperatures to Manaus (and warmer than the coastal Brazilian cities), and relatively humid if not quite as humid as Manaus.

Other than that, it's all logistical convenience, I guess. The Brazilians haven't exactly covered themselves in glory on the organisational front, so I can understand not getting there too early.

We play next Satdee. Cant compare Miami on the coast to the heart of the rainforest. Think its a big mistake myself.

When are they flying to Rio? Tomorrow? And when do they then head up to Manaus? Thursday?

I'd guess it's a gradual acclimatisation. You don't want to jump straight into the extreme. Good move is Miami.

Italy arrived in Rio on Friday and play Fluminese tomorrow.

We've got an 8 hour flight to Rio tomorrow after playing today.

    Which is a better plan?

No wearing 1966 red shirt like thousands of others my wife's got city's blue away shirt on. Chatting to a few here and apparently it was mobbed on Wednesday with city supporters. Just about to go in the stadium and grab a beer or two
