    Really?

He jumped on the money train here.

He'd also peaked his ambition and we were no more than a championship relegation battler.

He's also a **** who thinks the law doesn't apply to him, and just an all round ****.

    It's a massive no.

Not having money doesn't mean not having ambition.

Care to expand on the second highlighted phrase?

That's as ridiculous as saying Allam jumped on the money train by buying City. The cvlub was worth **** all both times and both have lost/will lose money from it.

Have we ever had an owner/chairman who didn't seek to make money?

    I think so yes.

You'd have to be stupid to think you can make money by owning a club like City nowadays. Allam has lot millions, Bartlett, Pearson lost money. Accusations of any of those 3 trying to make money are ridiculous. I can't stand Allam as everyone on here knows, he's got a lot wrong with him, but his intentions when he took over weren't to make money. It was for everyone to love him.

    How did Pearson lose money?

Came in with someone else's money, sold up for many times that.

Apparently it is indeed fact and he bought it because, primarily, he thought he could make a profit when he comes to sell. The very same reason he bought City.
I've been told that there is something in the leases that gives the tenants a say on any prospective stadium sale, and this is why AP and the Allams fell out, as AP owns something that could be of value to the Allams although I'm not certain of the details.

I've no idea what really happened.

You hear plenty of rumours allegedly from reliable sources and you have to make sense of it all.

That's why I was curious about the poster who said 'he thinks the law doesn't apply to him'.

    Source?

If people think Allam bought the not to make money then they're either deluded, stupid or up his arse or all three.

He's charging us 5% interest FFS and paying himself a salary.

Who knows what he wanted to do then and what he wants to do now?

    Certainly not me.

He appears to have constantly modified his strategy and target every few months.

When he speaks he appears confused and contradicts what he has previously said.

Is this deliberate or just evidence of a confused mind?

But he's spent that 5% hundreds of times over.

Has he actually took ANY money out of the club ???

I don't think anyone would see buying a footy club as a good way to make money.

Pay day loans = hundreds of % interest charges

When I think of AP I think of Wormtongue from the LOTR.

Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

AP was, despite his fans attempt at brushing over the past, only ever out for himself, and he was and still is far too lower league for us. It would be a disaster of biblical proportions if he came back, although in the aftermath a lot would just blink and plonk the blame on someone else. He is good at self preservation.

My mums about the same age as AA

She says one thing then forgets what she said.

I asked her if she wanted to come on holiday any were in the UK about a month ago and twice in a week she said NO

Saw her yesterday and mentioned me , my female friend and my sister have booked a week away in August.

She's NOT very happy....says no one asked if she wanted to go

    Grrrrr.

    True story this.

How much has he given us and how much has he loaned us at a favourable rate to himself?

It's unhelpful to lump it all as 'he's put £x in'.

    Gift or loan?

His first priority as a businessman, is himself. So is mine. So is Assem Allam's. I can't ever recall AP saying otherwise, he just didn't try to fool everyone into thinking his investment was a gift to his customers.

What has Allam lost, or Pearson? You are bonkers if you think it had anything to do with folk loving him. It's like the posts talking about him being confused, utter nonsense of the highest order.

You are spot on. Also, if AP did have sufficient funds to buy City, or, as someone mused, he were a billionaire, then he would buy TWS. <ok>

Are they not all like this? There businessmen at the end of the day.

For the record; I think allam could have been our hero but he's f**ked all that up. City as a club are relatively new to being in the spotlight of the Premier League and all that goes with it but do you honestly believe for a minute that people like Bill Kenwright are any different to the likes of AA? The big difference is that clubs like Everton know how to guard (and leak) information, be it financial or otherwise ands reused to being in the public eye on a near daily basis. Coupled with the fact that they have been top10 for a decade or more...

I don't want the name change or to be saddled with **** loads of debt. About a year ago, I would've gone so far as saying that I don't want the Allams to leave but I think we're in a better position now should any new owners come in. I think that even if we got a new owner tomorrow (even if they ditched the rebrand) we would receive a similar level of backing because of us being in Europe, so I won't make out like without AA we'd be up **** creek. I do have to wonder right now if it's a case of better the devil you know.

to the original point: No as owner, yes as CEO.
