Until recently I agreed with the majority view that Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain stood out above the rest. But I've done a lot of research in the past couple of days and have now decided that the team best equipped to win it, with the help of a favourable draw, is Russia.

<laugh>. Never has there been that favourable a draw.

Jelavic top scorer and Croatia finish third after a horrific decision against them in the semi final. Real.

Coincidentally, I've just finished playing my 2014 World Cup game on my Xbox, and Croatia did actually come 3rd.

Netherlands won of course... I was playing as them.

Well the draw keeps Brazil and Argentina apart until the final. I also think that the other 2 semi final spots will be 2 from Belgium - Germany and Spain.

Reus is a MASSIVE blow to Germany. Without him I think they're far less of a creative threat.

Time for Ozil to rediscover himself.

I reckon Ozil will be ****. Burnt out after a year of PL football. He obviously wasn't expecting it to be so hard on his body.

Anyone seen the banner the Argies came out with tonight before their game with Slovenia?

It's a banner pushing for the Falklands to gain sovereignty.

Considering FIFA are very strict on showing political images, they'll go apeshit after this.

To gain sovereignty? I.e. no part of UK or Argentina? Aren't they meant to be after ruling it themselves?

I think so, though they probably want them to do something similar to the Crimea, and join Argentina, even though the Falklands has always been happy to be under UK rule.

The Falkland Islands have had several referendums that have been massively in favour of staying as an Overseas Territory of the UK.

I know, that's why my post ends with "even though the Falklands has always been happy to be under UK rule."

I'm just supporting your point. It just makes the Argies' claim to it even more ridiculous. It's like going out with a bird for 10 years and then some ugly **** tries to kill you to get you out of the picture, despite the fact the lass wouldn't touch the other twat with a barge pole.

I expect you to start speaking in a French accent soon. Especially with your sweepstake being Algeria.
