The fact he's soon to be earning £120,000 a week for being a nothing special footballer does irk a little. His hair makes up for it though.
SF1: Brazil vs Spain SF2: Argentina vs Germany 3rd Place: Spain vs Germany Final: Brazil vs Argentina It's pre-ordained, it's rigged, it's the hand of God, it's Argentina ! Just ask S.B. And I don't mean Brucey ?
Indeed ^^^^^ this. All three would be certain to start if English. Shows just what dross England have and how much quality Spain are overloaded with at the moment. Could not have put it better. Rooney already looks passed it at this level now. France have issues over Rubbery Ribery and his back. Another top player that could be missing this WC.
Only one forward!! how old is he anarl http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jun/02/germany-world-cup-squad-klose Joachim Löw has made the final three cuts to his Germany World Cup squad with Shkodran Mustafi, Marcel Schmelzer and Kevin Volland missing out. There is only one striker, the veteran Miroslav Klose, listed in the final group of 23, although Lukas Podolski, André Schürrle and Thomas Müller provide a significant attacking threat from midfield. As their training camp wrapped up, Low said: “I was amazed at how all the players presented themselves in South Tyrol. “Each individual has worked excellently. Players have done what I ask for. It is very hard to make this decision and Shkodran, Marcel and Kevin are naturally very disappointed. I understand that as they had every right to hope to be going to Brazil. “Of all the players selected I have 100% confidence. We have the right mix of youth and talent and players with lots of experience. Our squad is balanced, with two players in every position. Our players have character, this team has character, and we will go to Brazil with confidence and with big goals.” The players were taking a day off on Monday before meeting in Mainz on Friday to play Armenia. They are due to head to Brazil on Saturday. Germany squad Goalkeepers: Neuer (Bayern Munich), Weidenfeller (Borussia Dortmund), Zieler (Hanover). Defenders: Boateng (Bayern Munich), Durm (Borussia Dortmund), Grosskreutz (Borussia Dortmund), Höwedes (FC Schalke), Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Lahm (Bayern Munich), Mertesacker (Arsenal). Midfielders: Draxler (Schalke), Ginter (Freiburg), Götze (Bayern Munich), Kramer (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Khedira (Real Madrid), Kroos (Bayern Munich), Müller (Bayern Munich), Ãzil (Arsenal), Podolski (Arsenal), Reus (Borussia Dortmund), Schürrle (Chelsea), Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich). Forward: Klose (Lazio).
You can probably class Podolski, Schurrle and Muller in their own category, the 'Koren' position - not quite midfield, not quite striker. They certainly ain't midfielders. Especially Podolski and Muller.
Calling Podolski and Schürrle "midfielders" is a reach if you ask me - they're forwards. Podolski has 46 international goals, ffs. Müller has been used up top quite a bit too, and Reus plays a pretty attacking role as well. They're well covered up there.
I really hope Diego Costa misses a penalty against Brazil the traitorous ****er, one of the strangest allegiance choices ever
Germany 6 v Armenia 1 Not much of a test I know but moving up a gear. Marco Reus goes off injured. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/wo...dre-Schurrle-Lukas-Podolski-net-easy-win.html I'll go with Germany to win the World Cup.
The experts have their say... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/wo...s-World-Cup-anybody-stop-Our-experts-say.html
Quite fancy Belgium and Hazard/Lukaku to be among the top goalscorers. Hulk could score a few for Brazil too and Argentina have to be respected. I have an odd feeling about Brazil in so much that home expectation might do for them, funny things happen with that team sometimes. My main hope for England is we score more than we let in, it's a disgrace that Smalling is there ahead of Davies and Luke Shaw looked like a disaster waiting to happen the other day so if we get injuries the defence is shockingly weak
would love to say Belgium because they have a top quality team, but... Belgium winning the world cup? It just won't happen will it? Brazil I think, think the fact its in South America will badly affect Germany who were my original pick
I've just swotted up a bit on the groups n draw. We are gonna end up against Brazil or Spain in the QF's if we get that far. Best will in the world and I'm pro England thats as far as we get.
Why? He's lived in Spain for the last 7 years and obviously considered himself more likely to play for them. England could learn a thing or two and stop this 'well we made it to the last 16 with all English players.' malarky. Nearly every other country does it and have seen results.
I don't think anyone's under the illusion that playing foreignors wouldn't make us more successful, same as it would with every other country. But it's ****ing ridiculous, that's why we don't do it. How can you have two brothers like the Boatengs playing for different countries? Or the Alukos in fact? How Irish/Welsh/Scottish football fans can have any pride in their team when half of them are English is beyond me. How those players can want to play for another country is also beyond me, and that includes Chester. France having a full team of Africans and Germany just being an assorted World XI are equally daft.
