grey skies in Lincs.... luckily i watered all my mum's pots last night UPDATE: Heavy rain now falling...
The creation of the common market certainly helped European unity but it has become a monster which is creating sever animosity between nations especially those in Southern Europe. Thank god our bumbling politicians did not manage to drag the UK into the euro as we would be also struggling to produce any growth. At this time it is also ironic to see a europe increasingly dominated by a German state.
Looks as if the 'B' team league has been blown out of the water. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27743046
Morning all Some heavy rain this morning. Hoping it lets up this afternoon for the local festival and parade.
Afternoon all from a rainy but very muggy Bandit Country. Isn't it bloody typical. I wanted to do a BBQ this week-end as it's my birthday on Monday, could not do it last night as Mrs W_Y was out and cannot do it on Sunday as we are going to a CRUK fund raiser/birthday party - so it left today! I need to cut the grass and start to tidy up the patios and then have the BBQ and it's pissin' down! Bloody typical!
Strange all this talk of rain - lovely sunny day up here. Or, as the locals say, it's absolutely roastin' - at 25C. Having just cut the grass, it's time for a beer and a nap...
Evening all, another very hot day here, 30°C in the shade. Having some woodland it is possible to do some work in the shade, and it does help to keep the weight under control, until you have some cool beers when you finish.
Gardening beer rewards scheme: Mowing grass= one beer Digging veg patch = two beers Weeding = three beers Sitting in reclining chair admiring previous efforts = four beers Explaining to friends why gardening is both a pleasure and a chore = five beers Holding the fort while one's better half is off enjoying herself = six beers
Still no sign of it here - another sunny day with blue skies, currently 19C. Breakfast al fresco methinks, with an or two on the harbour wall later...
