I didn't say it did. But you're far from being the top club in the PL. Wake up matth and take the tints off.
Club or team? There's no shadow of doubt we're the top club in the premier league, it's not even debatable. Our team isn't so great at present though.
No wonder they are called ******ed. They are too thick to know the difference between club and team...
I know. No response either, just the sound or a thousand pennies dropping. May as well have two monkeys bashing cymbals together in their heads instead of brains.
And do you think Skylarker was referring to financial power or fanbase when he said you are far from the top club in the PL? He obviously meant your teams ability on the football field. Stop being pedants.
Did he? Well Matth said top club in the premier league, which we are by a country mile and it's obvious that's what he was saying, for which sky called him a bellend so no one really cares what he 'meant'.
well yeah, they do tend to get over excited. And Chief, Matths claim that you are the top club in the PL was a response to someone saying Man Utd were in the top 7. Then Matth said "Not a chance, we are the top club in the PL", in a lot of ways yes, but that doesnt change the fact that United finished 7th.
This was in response to Sky's ridiculous claims. To which Matth, correctly, pointed out we're the top club in the premier league and one poor season won't make a big difference. Quite simple really. He was right. Sky, in a lame point scoring effort, was wrong. Like I said in the other thread, there's a nice irony to it all. Man who is wrong calls man who is right an idiot for being right.
No one knows, if you throw loads of money at it and offer big wages etc then of course you should land your targets, but long gone the days of players signing just because its "insert team name here" although Utd is clearly a big name. If you dont offer big money you probably wont land your first choice targets imo
You will probably get players that will come as its Van Gaal as the manager, Dutch players, past players that have worked got on with him etc
Anyway, it isn't even up for debate. We've won the premier league at least four times the amount of our nearest challengers. We've won it it at least ten times more than our nearest challengers. Once outside top four. More often than not second when we don't win it. Largest ground , biggest crowds. Always have, always will. A turnover that is monstrous by comparison to anyone else's. All this equals top club in the league and having one poor season does not change that. It is as plain as day. For the benefit of Liverpool fans who think that us having a bad year diminishes that, they aren't even second. Behind us are Arsenal, Chelsea and City. In that order. All have won it at least twice, Liverpool are fifth at best. Coming second once every blue moon doesn't alter that.
