Even after all those years of lower league football, i was always talked about how we could still make the top div. All we really needed was someone to see the potential. Adam Pearson was that someone. AP always seemed to deliver on what he promised. He's an honest man.

    Yes !

    No

Prefer if he stays at FC and continues his great work of dragging them down.

Had to laugh at the guy saying he was 'creepy', not like the old fella who is happy for fans to die if they want to then? No anyway though I have complete respect for what Pearson did for us remembering what went before

AP was loved because he did good for the club on an ongoing basis. It was tue complete opposite of the almost religious way people feel they have to like Allam no matter what he does.

Is this another of those questions that seeks an answer to a question that should have been asked?

No and no, just in case. <ok>

Yes, because if he was back it would mean the Allams had gone. They fell out because he bought FC without telling them, and his ownership of FC means he has input on the future of the stadium.

................and straight away tried to steal our customer base and sponsors.
................recently delivered a very cheap shot when he said he and his daughters 'much preferred the excitement of rugby league to football'
Does anyone think he seriously believes that ****e?
Must have been riveting, edge of the seat stuff last week-end in That London with a point scored every minute (like basketball) and just over 1,000 people in the ground.
    Yesterdays man.
So my answer is no but I would take someone who could talk a good game like he could.

But that is what business men do, promote their interest's.
Many have said that FC are way way ahead of City in marketing, getting to the kids at school, the shop outside St Sephens, radio adverts, etc etc.
If only we had someone like that to promote premier league, FA cup finalist Eropa cup participants Hull City.

Do you know this as fact?

Not saying it isn't but when he did it, my first thought was that City had been very crafty (for once) and had bought Hull installing AP as supremo. By doing this we held all the KC cards: City, Hull and the SMC.

We will never know the true sequence of events and who was behind it all. At the time it did not seem to make sense for AP to get involved in RL (from his own point of view) and it always seemed a strategic move to get our grip on the KC tightened.

It could be that AP did it off his own bat for exactly the same reason: owning Hull was a massive bargaining chip for him.

In which case, it's no surprise the Allams got rid: no one likes a sneak and a traitor.

Maybe the fact it was/is all hush-hush is because no one smelt of roses in that business.....

Yet another big unanswered question along with :-

    - who trousered the PL money first time round?
    - what really happened with NB?
    - did Tim Wilby really insist on showering with the players?

    I've just said that haven't I?
The media department and press office at Hull City is not of Premiership standard and it says a lot when a minority sport like rugby league can steal a march on us at every opportunity in this area.
We should be dominating the airwaves, the printed press and the local television, our club shop should be the best and busiest in the city centre.......etc.
But where is it? Second or is it third floor, of a failing shopping precinct that is now the poor relation to St Stephens and then it's tucked away in a corner selling stuff that wouldn't be out of place in the Joke Shop in Hepworths Arcade.

Our marketing strategy: rename ourselves as an attractive animal and hope that someone far away takes a shine to this novel and fun idea.

I was under the impression that AA was offered FC three times and he didn't want to know. No interest in them at all. It was only when Pearson realised AA was true to his word and he was not putting on a poker face to get the asking price down even further that he stepped in. I've heard he paid very little for the club, which was really buying a franchise, the asking price was said to be £1million and it carried a lot of debt included a hidden unpaid tax bill, so I would have thought AP got it for considerably less then £1million.
That's when it kicked off because AP was still an employee of Hull City acting as a paid consultant to the Allams at £300k a year (could be wrong, as I don't know the actual figures) and for a while he was running FC whilst being paid by City (the Allams)
I too thought at the time that it was a very good move by City to purchase FC because it surely must have strengthened their hand over the KC with the council.
I argued the toss with Gwilym LLoyd on Radio Humberside about it at the time. GL said it was nothing of the sort, and it looks as though he was right. With hindsight I would have thought that AP knew his time was coming to an end at City for reasons known only to him and the Allams and buying FC at a knock down price was too good to miss and it kept him in the picture.
But this is like a lot of the intrigue surrounding the club. The local printed media is so poor that we never get to know the facts. Why did AP suddenly lose favour with the Allams?
    Why did he buy FC?
Why was AA so adamant that he wasn't going to buy them when it was obvious, to me anyhow, that the purchase would have had the council eating out of his hand ?
Why at the same time did the council do a secret deal with FC over their rental agreement at the KC?
Who set the deal up where the SMC (the Allams) subsidise every FC home game?
answers on a post card please..............

Ask this question in the concourse at a distant away game and you'd get 90%+ saying yes. Just like everyone who goes to games is anti-Hull Tigers, but there's a few online who need to be contrary or don't understand.
