Sunderland are baulking at the personal demands of Liverpool striker David Ngog.

The Journal says the Frenchman was due to receive a hefty pay hike if he stayed at Liverpool this season and Sunderland are unwilling to match that sum.

Given the size of his pay rise, it is little wonder Liverpool have agreed to sell him as part of the £20m deal that took Jordan Henderson to Merseyside.

But the deal could collapse unless Liverpool are willing to help with the cost of his wages or reduce the fee so the striker can be given a lump sum up front to persuade him to accept the terms on offer on Wearside.

Talks are set to continue in the coming days, although the Sunderland hierarchy are confident the 22-year-old will sign for them by the start of pre-season training next month.

If he is sticking out for too much then **** him there are better around who would come and the puds will have to stump up something else, Stevie G anyone, ha ha

To me its a win/win for us because he may be a good signing, we dont know, but he is not first choice. If he drops his demands or Liverpool pay up then great, if not we will find better.

I'm not massively excited by Ngog but certainly willing to give him a shot, hopefully prove me wrong. Puzzles me though, what did he do at Liverpool to be due a hefty pay hike?? :undecided:

There once was a lad called Ngog
He was an awful money grabbing frog
He said 'please mister Quinn, for a million I'm in
Years on and he's still cleaning Charaghers bog.

Canny diver, if you recall that game vs Birmingham at Anfield a couple of seasons ago.

Gyan does it a lot, but not very well, Bent's gone so maybe SB thinks we're short in that department.

Scousers have been saying how good he is, but I bet they just can't wait to see the back of him. If the reports are true, I have some suitable French phrases he might understand. Va te faire foutre, trouduc or Va te faire enculer chez le diable would do for starters.

Think my thoughts on this lad are quite clear. I think a free transfer is too expensive for him.

He has done **** all at Liverpool and looks like a plank whenever I have seen him and now he is demanding a huge pay day? Paying for what exactly? For being totally ****e?

Well I'm sorry but **** right off bonny lad are my quick and final sentiments.
