I'd question his quality and his motivation personally. Seems like a mercenary type to me and we've had enough of them recently.
I don't think it's money, if that was the case he'd have joined us last season rather than Norwich. He's scored regularly in the Champion's League with Celtic and he was injured for a while at Norwich. If the price was right, perhaps £4 million with add-ons for 20 in a season etc he might be a shrewd buy...
I watched Hooper in Scotland and when some of our fans where suggesting we sign him, I laughed. He is capable of scoring the odd goal (but so is Harry Kane) yet that doesn't say much. Hopefully you avoid him as he isn't of any real quality. Billy Mackay outscored him in the Scottish League, he would be a better bet!
I think we should be taking another look at Steven May from St Johnston. 27 goals in 47 games last term. Didn't jump ship when he could have taken a better deal mid season and a youngster too. Would be looking to move up and prove himself. Also the Icelander from Ajax sounds useful option too.
Ignore him. He turned us down at the last minute because he was too good for us and simply had to play in the premier league with a club with better prospects. Our own players who did not want to play for us in the Championship have been condemned on this board. So how is he different? He got what he wanted. And may be in twelve months time he might be in a promotion winning side. There's no need to break the bank or upset other players by offering him bucket loads in wages. It was his choice to waste years 'developing' for Celtic and now he only needs to waste 12 more months with Norwich before he can get the chance again to show the world what a fabulous player he is. Perhaps he'll score ten goals next year?
Doyle scored a header last night and a Costa Rica player was sent off for elbowing him in the nut. I wouldn't be surprised if Redknapp signs him up if he can get Wolves to drop their asking price.
We should definitely pass on him, especially after he previously stood us up. Along with Ricky van Wolfswinkel he couldn't deliver goals in the Premier League - I see Norwich have opted for a more "Charlie Austin" type character in signing proven goal scorer Lewis Grabban. Lewis Grabban swaps Bournemouth for Norwich as £3m striker signs three-year deal at Carrow Road Norwich City have signed Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban on a three-year deal. The 26-year-old joins the relegated Canaries for an undisclosed fee after two years on the south coast. Grabban netted 35 goals from 93 outings for the Cherries and top scored last season with 22 strikes. And the former Rotherham frontman told Canaries.co.uk: ‘It's good to start a new chapter, get going again with Norwich and hopefully get promotion. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...triker-signs-three-year-deal-Carrow-Road.html please log in to view this image
