Doncaster have just turned down a 1.8 million offer from another unnamed Championship club for him.
    Could it be us?

    No chance.

    1) He's yet another goalscoring forward people are linking us with, we have Fryatt remember.

    2) We are poor as ****.

Anyway, I thought they sold him and Coppinger ages ago. Can't remember who to but I'm sure they were both going for £2.6m or something like that.

Think we are just in for a 800k bid for Hobbs and the rest will be free agents.

Sorry to point this out, but the bid was £2.8m, not £1.8m.

Whoever has put in that bid (probably the Tractor Boys) must really want him. Nearly £3 million for Billy ****ing Sharp??

I think you might be talking about the bid I've mentioned above, which also included James Coppinger.

No it was a seperate bid made today. £2.8 million for Sharp. No mention of Coppipnger on SSN. Te other bid was indeed from ipswich for both and was £2.5 mill...I think.

He's a decent player when i've seen him play, but think £2.8m is paying over the odds for him. We have bigger issues to contend with elsewhere in the squad than signing more strikers.

Lot of people on footy rumours think Southampton are in for him. Obviously need to take that site with a pinch of salt sometimes (well most times) but it sounds plausible.

My bad, I should do some research now and then ;)

There's no way he's worth that much though.

The rumour is very plausible because of the Nigel Adkins link. They have money to spend and need a more potent strike force to be aiming for promotion (which is what they are targeting).

Don't be surprised if they 'do a Norwich'

Haven't the tractor boys just signed Jason Roberts and Michael Chopra? I guess Connor Wickham is as good as gone if they've got another couple of million to spare.

    Nathan Ellington. <ok>

Chopra, Sharp and Ellington? Hmm... An interesting forward-line.
