O/T Technical advice please

I've got an old camcorder. Its a Sharp VL-Z5E. Used it for years but not used it for ages now. Its one of those things it was knackered so i left it in the cupboard and forgot about it.

Anyway it plays these little cassette tapes and now i cant get it to work. I've got loads of these little tapes with holidays xmas birthdays etc on those tapes. How am i going to get them loaded and stored onto the computer etc.

I'm ****ing useless with any technology so if the above is a bit **** i hope you get my meaning.

Any help gratefully received.

 

Can you borrow an old video player? If so, you can get a cassette the little cassettes play in and then with a bit of jiggery pokery, copy from that to a DVD recorder or PC.

 

I cant see any decent adapters to do it yourself, and they will probably be crap anyway. You'd be better of using a service - http://www.vinyltodigital.co.uk/video/vhsc-to-dvd.html

 

Are you sure that's all you've got on those tapes.

Ye there is that too. Not worried for myself as I was in pretty good shape back then.

 

I bought an adapter, plugs into my camera or my old VHS player using either phono cables or S-Video, connect up to the PC using USB, press play on player, press record on PC, 180 mins later, its done.

EZCap it is. Easy enough even for an old duffer like you to work out.

I just used Windows Movie Maker to add edit a bit, add titles etc.

I'll post more details later, busy atm.
