I think this is very much an age thing. I use a combination of both probably because I'm of the older generation on here. It will always be miles per hour, inches for diameters, pounds and ounces for weights, feet and inches for height etc.....etc. Then again I do use mm, cm and metres for thicknesses and distances. On another note I was brought up on decimilsation (1972) was it? Then again I still remember shillings, tuppences, hapenny's.
well he isn't under 50 then is he? he served in the forces you know so you could have your freedom. show some respect.
I went into a fruit and veg shop a few months ago and asked for 2 pounds of Strawberries. The shopkeeper said to me "It's Kilos now", so I said "Well give me a pound of Kilos please".
Metric measurements are suitable only for frogs and woppos. Which is ironic given that the Imperial system was bequeathed to us by the Romans. Anyway, if six inches was good enough for Julius Caeser, it's good enough for me.
Caesar was only about 5' 3" so it's unlikely he had 6 inches. Same with Napoleon and Alexander, all midgets.
Napoleon was 5'7" which was above average height for that era, it was a British newspaper or something that made him out to be small. He was probably taller than you!
