Happy we've secured Can - hopefully we can get Moreno sorted now. I wouldn't worry about the Spurs interest. £16-18m is quite a chunk but I feel it is fair price - a lot of potential and there aren't too many top quality left backs in football. But the potential 'marquee' signings won't happen until after the WC - the bigger players have teams after them and the selling clubs know this and have no reason to get the deals done early. So although we're trying to get business done quickly, I expect activity throughout the summer.
well.... can in theory gives more experience at a young age so should be more able to transition than alberto who is in effect now a loanee . Moreno also represents the same coutinho like experience but one does feel that they need men beside them to help them too. henderson i feel will have a lot on his shoulder next year... he can take it.. shako having moreno beside him will be a question if it occurs. the thing is there's not too many things "bad" you can say about our squad right now compared to 2 years ago.
He's been **** for Barca; he's slow, he can't defend and he's not very disciplined in terms of team defensive duties or covering positions. There's a reason Barca fans aren't exactly burning their season tickets until the management change their mind to keep him and there's a reason the management don't care enough about him even with Xavi nearing the end of his career. At Arsenal, yeah he was good, but he had an entire squad built around him roaming and doing what he liked. We have Suarez (although play a little differently too) so he would have to muck in like the rest. He can't.
Old news but good news - Can and Lallana would give us some great options. Plus whoever else we bring in please log in to view this image
We are going to send the boy out on loan Just like he was with Barca b who weren't pushed to take up thier option My point is buying young players with senior games under thier belt means they have a shot at immediate impact unlike Alberto who looked all at sea
I am sure Lallana and Can would be delighted to know they are considered as "good options" by thier prospective new supporters. Who do you think Brendan has in mind to strengthen the first team?
Why would a good option not be strengthening the first team? Last year the first team wasn't an issue, it was the depth of the squad. Ronaldo is a pretty good option to have, as is Messi or Bale.
Paris St-Germain are ready to listen to offers for 20-year-old centre-back Marquinhos, who is a target for Manchester City. Talksport (external) And so it begins, psg have so sell but want 20 players in so here's a potential bargain
I'd call it tactical ineptitude... seeing we are about to get moreno (maybe) that would change both full backs according to the nutjobs on here Oh flanagan your averageness stands out most! AND Can is a deeper lying midfielders who can sit beside gerrard..... well i think the options procured help sharpen the minds of those allowing goals.
I posted this on the Saints board and they weren't too happy with me Plus Diego, like the others have said - piss poor attempt. He'd slip straight into your starting 11 without doubt... We haven't even signed him yet anyway
Spoke to my mate yesterday. I see gonzo and saint haven't passed the info I texted to them on - ****s . It's ONE OF Shaqiri, Lallana or Markovic, not two of the three. Moreno is a separate issue.
