Our Scott is no longer a blue but will be (possibly) playing at Portman Road again next season but in the colours of our new league opponents Rotherham

Shame for him to have to leave a couple of years after joining but good luck to him up there and I hope he revives his career and makes the most of the career that has stalled for the past 4-5 years

good luck to scotty, I felt he had an unjustified rough ride, perhaps the fact he is blue put him in a poorer position.

Looking at who they have signed, I would have loved to have got Matt Derbyshire here.

I know he was never going to command a great fee but yet again a player leaves us for nothing. Didn't think there was much between our two keepers to be honest so it will be interesting to see what kind of keeper comes in. A new number 1 would be the better option for me. Loach & Gerken were steady but not spectacular so it is a position I would like to see us get a really decent bit of quality for.

Alexander is probably my Favourite town keeper of the ME era and we have had a few!

Loach has been nothing but professional, everything he has done off the pitch in how he's behaved has been first class. Not the greatest on the pitch but was harshly treated by both Jewell and Mick. I'm not the biggest fan of Gerken, he's not the best although I do like the fact he's quick off his line. We should certainly be in the market for a number 1 not a back up.

Alexander for me in his short spell for us was the best GK I've seen at Ipswich (I've been watching since the early 90's) and if we hadn't of sold him I'd wage we'd of at least made the playoffs the season he left. 36 now so certainly wouldn't be one for the future, I'd rather see us go for someone like Keiron Westwood who's been released from Sunderland

Looking forward to another away day.

Forrest and Wright were in a different league to Alexander. He was a good shot stopper but his height let him down and was the only reason he was never going to compete at the top.

Good luck Scott. You did us proud with your community work and always being up for the school/hospital visits. Unfairly benched after putting in good performances.
    Westwood is a good shout.

Kieren Westwood would probably be my choice from what I know of goalkeepers that could be available. Always looked good for Coventry and never let anyone down at Sunderland, but they will clearly be looking to bulster everywhere including in goal

I would say that Gerken is definitely not a goalkeeper you would expect to see in a promotion winning side. Decent keeper but too many rickets and just not quite consistent enough over 46 games

Same sentiments as TB, it frustrates me that yet again we've let a player go for free. The confusing thing is Loach formed part of a good goalkeeping team - I think the competition provided by having Loach as no 2 contributed to Gerken playing so well - and although he was a Jewell signing I cant imagine his wage would have been astronomical.

I understand we don't want an unhappy player stuck here not playing, but he's been so professional in his time here I'm sure he would understand that we'd want to wait for a fee. And as a fan i'm he wouldnt have been that unhappy to have ITFC on his paycheck.
