<ok> I wasn't too fussed about it until this run up - he seems so agitated and then the comments on the youngsters was ****ing outrageous!

Firmly in the '**** off Roy' camp now

  2. Naming the 23 man squad with reserves was out of order IMO. Why not just pick a squad and cut it to 23 come the actual deadline? Let the players have something to play for. Although it will be great experience for the likes of Flanno and Stokes, how **** is it for the likes of Carrick and Carroll? "So lads, you've not quite made it but come along and join in so we can laugh at you"

well in fairness my bad memory suggests we've always had standbys i'm not sure we've done 27 man squads very much

  4. Jamie Carragher for England manager #serious

I believe the national manager should be someone that as not been part of domestic football where they can buy their way out of trouble. International football is about making the best of what you have, using tactics to maximise the return from the players at your disposal. It is also a great platform for managers to learn and progress into domestic management; aka Mark Hughes, Gary Speed, etc

  5. Nope, we usually name a thirty man squad. People guess at who is a reserve but its not normally announced until the deadline and then those players go home. there is no false hope.

He was injured for one WC, the rest of his time wasting an England shirt includes him disgracefully getting sent off and being ****e when his nation needed him most.

It was a friendly, it's Sterling's first World Cup tourno, his captain was doing his job.

What was Rooney's excuse against Portugal?, the England captain/team/manager and the English press backed the petulant toerag to the hilt and instead of slating the culprit they character assassinated Ronaldo because he winked after Rooney got his deserved red card.

World Cups are played every four years almost immediately after the English season finishes, many players carry knocks and minor injuries into the tournament.
Ferguson would never have allowed Rooney to play in a tournament with a serious injury whether it was the World Cup or a 5 a side competition.

He was slated to ****. As was beckham.

And maybe his team mates were behind him. Maybe thats been the issue all along. Nobody cracking skulls and telling their team mates to sort it out.

Rather than huggle cuddles and cake alround.

He was for both. You may remember the mass hysteria prior to both. If you ventures outside, opened your eyes or were not deaf then you certainly knew as it was everywhere.

And fergie didnt want him to go but was in a dilema. Rooney wanted to go and the fa/england bent every rule to sign him off fit.

And lets not forget fergie also played wayne while unfit. V bayern in 2010 for example.

The press ALWAYS kissed utd players arses and bigged them up back in the day when utd were successful but it was no surprise when they get found out on the international stage.

Fergie had every right to play Rooney fit or unfit at club level, if the FA/England doctors declare a player fit for international duty he's fit, the same as when Utd's doctors found players like Giggs unfit for international duty many times, right?

Giggs could have played many more times for Wales if he wasn't manipulated by Fergie to pull out of games with imaginary injuries and early in Scholes and Beckham's international careers Fergie tried the same stunt with England but he got put in his place.
