Best football I ever saw the club I love play.
Johnstone & Summerbee on the wings, Mickey Grey overlapping.
Quinn getting the knock downs for that little feller Phillips, (who the **** was he again?).
A man from Watford we paid 350 grand for, who became a legend at Sunderland.
I ****ing love the man & he's welcome at my house anytime.
    Happy memories.

Used to count down the days, hours & minutes to the match man.

Those 2 seasons, the promotion and the first year up at the SOL, what a ****ing pleasure it was.

I can't really define it by one game, I know many would say the Chelsea 4-1, but the euphoria moment for me was Superkev taking the piss out of Bradford away on a Boxing Day when I literally had to drag my sorry arse out of bed, onto a bus, wretching all the way down.

Journey back was a ****ing breeze.

Wonderful times, shame Reidy couldn't evolve the squad and extend the happy times.

To be fair mate, the money simply wan't there.

If we'd had Ellis at that point, who knows where we could have went.

Reidy found a few duds, but **** me did he find some magic as well. Players that had been written off, like Summerbee, players little known, like Kev, 'past it' players like Quinn & Schwarz.

The man did some ****ing unreal business for us.

    Brilliant times
The heartbreak of the play-offs, winning the Championship at a canter - did the players even break into a sweat that season?
And those 2 seasons of 7th place.
Remember being at West Ham when we won to go second. All the fans coming out singing "If you're going to Barcelona clap your hands"
    My favourite SKP goal
Imagine if Rooney had scored it - you'd never see the last of it

    Good choice Jerry!

He did like to cut inside, but the deliberate & effortless clip finish on that is unreal.

What a boy he was Kev, he was just daft for a while, literally did score when he wanted.

Hands were tied finically with Murray Bri, just wish Ellis or Drumaville had been there to back him.

On second thoughts, Nunez, Fregaard and the fekkin beanpole Norwegian Ah-Ha wannabe, I will stick with the memories..<laugh>

Brilliant times, the atmosphere in the stadium back then was just incredible. In hinesight I think extending the stadium was a bad idea. We used to be full every week and it was a very intimidating atmosphere.

I remember the Chelsea game, I was sat behind the goal in the south stand, it was freezing cold and I was there in just a t-shirt. I have never been so cold in all my life, but I soon forgot about it when the goals started going in.

Aye, funnily enough tho our average last season is HIGHER than the 41k capacity pre-extension under Reid, so it's a funny one.

I remember the Watford game as well first after we went up, again was Kev with a ****ing beauty that got us rolling in the Prem.

I remember being at SoL for a Monday night game vs Villa.. The atmosphere was mental.
Gareth Southgate interviewed after their 2-1 defeat .. Said the young villa mascot wouldn't come out the tunnel as it was that loud. He then said.. I couldn't blame him, even I was was having second thoughts.
    Great days (& nights!!)

Away from the SOL, remember the Everton game, last at Roker Park (competitive).

Waddler smashing a free kick in at the Fulwell End for 3-0, what a ****ing day that was man.

As standar, we ****ed it up the next week, but in that moment...

Aye, problem was the Duds came at two years years that followed the 7th finnishes. Medina 3m, Laslandes 3m, Flo 7m. Lot of money in those days. He's spent so well up till then.

But like you said their were some cracking buys Arca, Sorensen(less than 1m) , Steve Bould was Genius! Given the captains armband for good measure. But Super Kev has to be one of the best bargains in history

How could I not have mentioned Julio & Tommy!

And Bould, aged 103, easily the best CB I have seen in the shirt, ****er never even had to move he knew where the ball was going.

You know, Laslandes & Flo, both had pedigree, sometimes you just can't see it coming, Flo scored on his debut v Man United, and to be fair, we all thought he was gonna be alright.

Could have signed Zlatan for £4million at that time though, spent £3million on Marcus Stewart instead.

I remember that, he looked like a sack of **** stood over ball then bang, gorgeous! It was like tramp producing Gourmet food on a bin fire!
