Also great to see Wilshere backing Sterling in the Valencia incident.

Wilshere, Ox, Sturridge and Sterling seem really close together.

We should try to buy Ox from Arsenal this summer :p

Glass Jack should not face off against anyone (especially of Valemvia`s size) but good to see some team unity.

Wilshire traps off at any given chance but was good to see still!

Looking at sterlings reaction tells you everything you need to know, he didn't really know what he had done wrong so certainly didn't mean anything, just a bit naive

And there's your answer to what Roy will actually do.

Publicly criticises Barkley post match for giving the ball away too much...with a 91% pass completion stat....

This is after he downplayed Sterling last Match by saying it's easy to look good when the opposition is knackered and you come on last 15.

So Rooney and Welbeck it will be, with Milner at RW, Gerrard at DM with Hendo ordered to sit beside him and not go past him....

It wasn't a world cup winning side but it could have at least been exciting to watch.....Roy is a twat who hates young people...kids must point and laugh at his moobs a lot round his way....

I agree... perfect scape goat is rooney... lets blame him for world cup failure... he's fat, unfit, disinterested... you are quite right!

    A few points.

Good to see Lambert put his foot right through it.

    Wilshere is ****.

Sterling should never have been sent off. He got the ball and even turned his foot so the studs were pointing down. Didn't touch Valencia with his foot. Yellow.

Valencia is a bullying ****ing ****.

We must buy Barkley at all cost.

    Rooney is waning.

    We have no ****ing chance.

  10. The conversation was about Rooney, not Gerrard. I'd drop both.

Interesting that Rooney is the top scorer of world cup goals but has yet to score in a finals! #bottler #internationalflattrackbully

I don't see a problem with trying to get Rooney match fit for the first group game, on his day he's one of the best....on his day.

There will be a problem with sticking with him after first group match if he still looks as raw or off the curve.

The bigger problem is Roys quite clear distrust and dislike of young players...and his inability to play mobile, flexible football even when he does pick them.

Everything is set up beautifully for England this. tournament: lowest expectation and pressure from back home in 40 odd years, a potential team full of genuine pace and technique who are unknowns internationally......then you add Roy and it is guaranteed to be wall paper paste performances from your the experienced players and kids with bag full of nerves because the manager has been so public in his distrust....

He's the nemesis of Rodgers man management....he'd suck the life out of a rock.....and I'll say it again....He's got droopy tits.....

When Sterling got sent off, it was good to see Gerrard come onto the pitch and walk him off with his arm round him.

Completely agree, if England had the right man in charge at the moment they'd have a shot at winning it.

    Hmmm. Bit rash that, perhaps.

We'd certainly have a chance of going further with a better manager.
Roy was totally wrong for Liverpool, but at first I thought he wasn't doing too badly with England. I've changed my mind now, though, he seems pretty clueless. He appears to see his squad as an A team and a B team instead of an integrated unit, he's still giving a run out to players who aren't even going to the tournament, and he just says the wrong thing all the time. The players will have to be performing for themselves, because I can't see him instilling confidence in anyone with his attitude.

When Roy is sacked straight after we go out - I'm hoping that the panel who appoint the next man have taken note of what young, enthusiastic managers have done in the league campaigns this season and get someone in for the long run who isn't stuck in the 70's.

We have such an array of young talent who actually believe in themselves & it is a tragic shame this old prick is leading us to the world cup in Brazil of all places
