Has a game going with us in Football Manager. And judging by his team selection might just be a better manager than Pardew:

Can't see the line ups in my viewer. Looks an attacking formation mind. Not surprising that the beautiful man wants to play beautiful football ⚽

    Is that real?!

I too can't see the line-up properly. I think it says

    -------------------------Krul------------------------------

    -Debuchy----Coloccini---Yanga-Mbiwa?---Haidara

    At the back?

The rest is incomprehensible pixels to me <laugh>

I'm working purely off positions and the length of their names here, but I think it's Anita and Bigirimana in front of them.

Then Gouf wide left, Ben Arfa in the middle not sure who's wide right, and Remy up top

EDIT: According to the Daily Mail, the player on the right is Bruma from Galatasaray.

Bigi? Blimey, FM14 must be realistic as even fantasy managers are hamstrung by a lack of support from the board.

To be fair, I was playing FM 12 recently, as Boro, and while I got them promoted, Newcastle got relegated after spending FFFFFFFFFF all on transfers for a season and a half, and then they sold all their best players.

They sacked the manager, and I applied. As the most talented candidate, I was rejected because the compensation to Boro was deemed too expensive <laugh>

I was only on £25,000 a week as well!

I bet he hasn't had the success I've had with Newcastle. I played similar but the left hand central midfield is a holding midfielder in mine. I have to say I also selected Yanga Mbiwa, much better than in real life. Became a club legend. HBA too, he is unbelieveable on the game - unlike in real life.

    I have so far delivered:

10 League titles (9 on the bounce) - I won it in my first season somehow. Then had a few disappointing years finishing 4th, 2nd and 3rd.
    4 European Cups
    4 World Club Championships
    6 FA Cups
    6 League Cups
    3 European Supercups
    9 Community Shields

They are building a new stadium named after me. Mike went after the third season and some Italian bloke took over. As I keep winning, he keeps giving somewhere between 30m-45m a season for a transfer budget. I have a terrible record with regard to signing homegrown talent <laugh> Our youth system is great but hardly any make it, I just flog them with 50% sell on fees. Despite my success they overlooked me for the England job in favour of Jose Mourinho (who hates me). Was very unhappy, particularly as I had turned down the Spain job expecting it to come my way <grr>

Cabaye's big error is relying on Bigi. I tried to develop him but he ended up at Villa and just an also-ran. Haidara is solid enough but I signed some Argentinian kid called Jonathan Silva from Estudiantes the scouts picked up and he was **** hot. As for being better than Pards, maybe at FM but if you played HBA and Mbiwa in real life - I'm afraid not, they're just liabilities

I've heard the options in training, though only for NUFC, are "intense", "high", "med", "low" and "pardewed", is that right?

Yes mine are always on Pardewed. It is guaranteed to see them develop and perform way above their capabilities as a squad. The problem in the early years is that there was a lack of investment from Mike so I was unable to sustain my top placed finish. Once the new guy came in, and I combined his money with being "Pardewed", we have been unstoppable. Just like real life really...................

Nope, that game's integrity just disappeared. I now see why MYM and Ben Arfa are world beaters.

I resent that given my success. It is quite obviously exactly the same as real life. Though me and Alan don't get on in FM14. He is Forest manager and was disrespectful towards my achievements ahead of a cup game. Obviously knowing we were unstoppable, I launched into him with the old "I might be bothered if it came from someone I respected............." routine. We have never got on ever since. Fair play to the silver fox though, he has Forest in the PL now.
