Valencia what a tough guy, picking on people half his size. Valencia is only half the player Sterling is though <ok>

What is Townsend on about? Sterling tackle was perfectly fine... won the ball and caught him with his follow through which happens in 99% of tackles.

How is that worth the same punishment as going up grabbing someone round the back of the neck and pushing them... and then grabbing them round the throat again <doh>

Sterling shouldn't have gone in so hard and high. Could have hurt Valencia. It was a definite card... He is young and impulsive but Red is a bit harsh.

If it doesn't effect the WC, Sterling should have nutted Valencia there.

Wasn't even close to red in a competitive game, let alone a friendly.

Wilshire was in there, doing his small man syndrome act
What a waste of time this game is, we are dire, one more game to go before the real thing.......and we are just farting around playing people out of position etc etc
All this game has proved is that Lampard,Jones, and Smalling should be nowhere near the squad........oh nearly forgot Woy as well

It was reckless. A definite yellow. Hope sterling will learn from that and stops doing tackles which are ridiculous and get him carded or even sent off in the WC.

Why leave it at that, why not shoot him. After all its Miami, gun crime is par for the course. ;)

So what have we learnt from today..

Rooney is lethal from 1 yard.
Wilshire is still made of glass and offers nothing to the midfield.
    Lampard is sadly past it
Smalling & Jones aren't at the moment an International CB pairing
Milner is no worse at RB than Johnson

    He won the ball.

Man up and get on with it. A good tackle is wining the ball and then leaving something on the player. Means next time there is a 50/50 challenge you have the mental edge on them and are more likely going to win the ball as they wimp out of it.

I think the reason we play a second string is, if we played the expected world cup line up, and they got beaten or they played their usual ****e, confidence would be low going into the competition, at least this way there is an excuse and the press stay off their backs
