Yes, he's not fit enough to play 90 mins. Fulham fans were frustrated by him.

We could do a lot worse on a freebie with sensible wages I think we'd be stupid to not take him.

If he would take sensible wages. He is on 50,000 now I think. Plus, we would have to decide if that was where we wanted to spend our money. Other positions are of more importance right now.

Yeah maybe I'm thinking about signing him out of context in regards to the rest of squad. You never know the fella might take a wage slash to improve his prospects of regular fussball?

Think he'll end up at QPR or some other village team.

if long and Jelly are on 40-45 grand a week we just cant afford to pay a bench warmer that much too and one of them would be. Its a waste of our budget when we need more strength in other areas..

We've been knocked back by Bristol Rovers to sign Alefe Santos 19, a Bristolian Brazilian, to go into our development squad.

19 seems a bit old to go into our development squad. You'd think they'd be on the bench at that age pushing for a first team place.

I thought that, but it's in the Bristol rag via news now. It's a bit random, so there must be something in it.

Different levels though. A 19 year old League 2 / conference player would have to be SPECTACULAR to get straight into a Pl matchday squad. Plus Jahraldo-martin was 19 when he signed for us; I think the development squad covers players up to the age of 23.

With all due respect to the kid and Bristol Rovers, if he has come all the way from Brazil to play football, and ended up at Bristol Rovers, there is a good chance that he is not spectacular.

    Gashead coming in peace.

Santos is a decent player but still quite raw but the potential is there which I suppose is what Bruce sees in him. He is under 24 and out of contract but I'm led to believe we have offered him favourable terms. Hull will have to come back with a better offer or if they take him then tribunal who will set out what needs to be paid. The last time this happened to us was Scott Sinclair and Chelsea.

Does this bloke have the potential to be as good as Scott Sinclair?

We are in a difficult position in a way. We need to source players who are good enough for the Premier League, but we don't have a "Premier League" reputation to attract them (he would probably have trampled your manager to death if it had been Chelsea who came calling for him).

On the other hand we don't have the Premier League sort of bank roll that clubs in lower divisions demand when they think they can get it. Hopefully that will come with time if we can stay up a few more seasons and cement our position in the top flight.

I hope that you/we/the kid all get what we want, but be aware that every agent in the world is using us as a "stalking horse" to drive players wages and fees up. We have been "Linked" with almost every footballer with two legs in the world!

Good luck for next season anyway.

Agreed. More than good enough and has proved it now.

Hope you are correct. Have my fingers crossed - lucky heather in my pocket. Let Palace or DQPR take him.

Maybe offer an extra sausage roll with a fancy ?? Seriously, we shall have to pay a token fee for the lad.

The HDM waffle today on Hull City really is poor even by there standards.

A bit of a blow relegation, particularly with a new stadium on the horizon. I know a Gashead, as I used to work for a Bristol based company - a decent bunch. Will you be continuing legal action, or just accept it and try and bounce back at the first attempt? The conference is a horrible league to get out of, but generally teams that do get promoted go on to do well in L2. Best of luck anyway!
