Some of us have had a great time over the last few years, especially when we were in L1. We got to see some great grounds and some great fans we would normally never meet. However we have had to put up with the club being raped and pillaged, and the owners varied from ****ing idiots (Ridsdale) useless, Robbers, inept shysters and guys who were on a self promotion tour. The outcome has always been the same though!

We have sat through and watched our better players not given contracts or sold to village clubs. We have seen cash for players move into offshore accounts and witnessed wholesale rape. We watched forward season ticket sales being mortgaged and we we saw bates use borrowed money be used to give the east stand a face lift instead of spending a bit to get us promoted to where the big money would be.

We now have the former CEO languishing in an arab jail for fraud and an Italian new owner trying to find out where his cash has gone. Every season for 10-years we have had highs and lows and now I think we just accept **** and carry on paying the dosh into someones account. We have seen another season where we were odds on for promotion in the first half fizzle into **** and die.

What next and how much longer are we going to take it? Massimo please sort it out once and for all

Evening Doc, I don't think we know just how lucky we were when we were in league 1.

We had a good ethic, a great team with a close knit squad who played for each other, a damn good Manager, and more then anything else..............

    We had hope.

Then the chairman sold them, gave nothing to the manager to replace them, then sacked him for not taking us further up the champ table.

What a well run club we have been, while we've seen other clubs go through the same, recover, and continue to go from strength to strength.

I'm not bitter about it though......

First season back in the championship were in the top 6 all season and were 2nd in December .... Grayson says to bates, give me a few quid to ensure we get promotion and bates says **** off you're 2nd so don't need to waste money. Remember that around £90m is the lottery win a club gets for promotion and we did **** all after Xmas and were knocked into 7th place on the last day of the season. Criminal and years later we're still here, still arguing about selling players, crap players not performing, not playing the kids, last manager left us with **** ..... We have wasted money, we have wasted time and all because of **** owners. Bates the so-called shrewdest busisman in the world couldnt see that a guaranteed £90m was a good deal for investing a million. Grayson sacked, Warnock sacked, Macdermot sacked and Grayson is the only one who spent **** all, instead he had his team sold from underneath him.

    <ok>Doc

You have summed up my feelings that I have had for years. I always used to live in hope that things would change.
Every season has started the same, a glimmer of some ambition from the owners only to fall away as their committment faltered.
Will this year give the same outcome. ? Who knows whats in Cellino,s mind. !

Still, as ever, I live in hope but time is slowly running out for some of us old guys.

I think the days of Leeds challenging to break into the top half of the Championship died when Bates sold up <ok>

TC I know you're winding us up but you may be right ... getting out of this league is getting harder and harder with the even bigger balloon payments relegated clubs are getting now ... it is going to take an owner pumping at least £50m into his squad to stand a chance, and there's not many owners at this level willing to commit that kind of cash ... unless Cellino invests heavily the Prem is another ten years away

We'll have to settle for being the big boys of this league for the foreseeable future then lads,:emoticon-0100-smile
at least the little clubs like Millwall will get their cup finals and actually see a crowd once a season at their place, until they finally get relegated back to Lg1<ok>

My only realistic hope for next season is to see Millwall gain their rightful place in L1

Compleey agree we could have gone up that year under Grayson.

On spending, Leicester spent a net £12-13m in previous 5 years, that's all. Trouble is we sold a similar net amount, so difference between us is 25m

As I've said previously, I'd be happy for us to be a top six championship outfit for a while rather than whipping boys in the pl. Too many park the bus games in the pl now between the top teams and the also rans. I've little or no interest in seeing Leeds being part of that charade

I said that Grayson was the second best manager we have had to Revie and got laughed at since Simon left we have had two poor recruits Brian who just was not right for the club it was too big a club for him but I wish him well I totally agree with what DOC is saying lets hope that MC can sort the club out

2020 has this right, because lets face it our best side since prem football was Graysons promotion winning team. Every player who was any good was sold and replaced with fodder. Any player who deserved a new improved contract was offered the same deal so left the club. Bates was criminal and I blame Grayson a bit for not having the spine to come out and tell the fans that we would never be able to compete unless cash was injected, or players were not sold. I would however have him back because he's been the best for years and he would have won back to back promotions just like Norwich and Southampton did when they were down there with us .... Investing wisely.

But Norwich paid over the odds for crap players like Morison, Howson, Becchio, Snotgrass & Parker and are back where they belong for next season <ok>

TC Norwich are relegated because the board didn't hold its nerve. They openly admit now that sacking Houghton was wrong because Adams didn't win a point, whereas Houghton would have taken all 3 at Fulham. Houghton brought in too many strikers last summer and none of them worked out, Hopper was the best but he played the cartoon character Rocky Wolf too many times, Becchio replaced Morison and never got a game. Norwich will go back up this coming season if they can keep the base of that team.
