England starting XI: Foster, Milner, Shaw, Jones, Smalling, Lampard, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Barkley, Rooney, Lambert.

Look at the state of that <yikes>

It's the smalling and jones cb situation that's really shocking both spend more time injured than playing so England are basically bereft of talent there... As for lampard? It better be his last cap...

But shaw and Barkley are our hopes

Think Sterling at least deserves a start too. Crazy that Hodsgon won't even try him out in a friendly after the season he has had!

This isn't the team he's thinking of playing in the actual tournament right?

Fairly sure he'll get on at some point.
Personally though, I think that at this stage you should be starting with your first 11.

It's all over the shop so who knows what the f hodgson thinks he'll learn about Milner here. Most international sides don't play too wide so it's more about position so if you stick the guy there and he let's someone get a free header at the back post or plays lads onside it's more disasterous

Pretty much a B team. The team picked for the last friendly will be the one closest to starting in Brazil.

Still surprised Sterling hasn't been handed a start in either friendly yet though.

I dunno could be seen as the launch from the bench option due to pace but from my point of view his best work is done early and I've not seen him just pick up the pace of a game when he came on for us to like change a game

    Any thoughts on this?

Could do, but it's almost like saying we'll try and keep the game to 0-0 until 75 minutes then win it in the last 15. Against the opposition we're playing, we'd be better off trying to win the game from the off.

Sterling was the best English player in the league from Xmas last season. He should at least start. I think he's starting Rooney hoping he comes good so he doesn't have to drop him because he hasn't got the balls to do it.

This. Sterling isn't a one trick pony like Walcott, to attack teams when theyre tired. Sterling starts off like a man possessed and catches them off guard. He is by far, behind Sturridge, the most effective player we have.

I agree with you. I think he should be starting as well.

I'd be playing Sterling & Lallana either side of Sturridge with Barkley in the number 10 and Henderon & Gerrard behind that.

I mean I can understand him playing barklay and leaving lallana out because he played last time as did Gerrard and Henderson but sterling hasn't started either and it doesn't make sense.
If Ecuador having any decent pace through the middle we could well be in trouble ( I know it's a friendly)

Only two players in the starting line up who will be playing for Liverpool next season. Shocking! We're going to lose!

Almost a great pass from our newest player.

This is what he'll offer us when he does play. Chance for the quicker players like Suarez, Stuge, Ford and Sterling to run off a player who can hold the ball up.

    Oh dear <doh>

Poor from Oxlade-Chamberlain not getting close enough to stop the cross then just poor defending from the CB to let the guy have a pretty much free header.
