WTF is the queen up to, how has she got anything to do with laws? I see they are now making it legal for fracking companies to walk on to your land and start drilling and all they goota do is throw you £50. Goes to show UK democracy is a joke when Energy companies can just make it up as they go along. Doesn't all that gas belong to the British people who own the land anyway? W T F
So they pump chemicals under your house, poison your soil and give you £50 I can't believe people accept this. Are we really gone that ****ing soft? That gas is yours if it is on your land, it's literally goodfellas law.
i think the thing is i think you only legally own 6ft down, no ore so the government own all below and can frack the f out of it
Not quite right that. As how it works is they can drill out for up to 3km horizontally from the well head. Up until today they'd have to inform you if part of that ran under your property. That said, they can get to **** with fracking! It's proven to poison water supplies with carcinogenic chemicals and there's already been Earth tremors after fracking activity in the NW. It's also massively un-environmentally friendly, due to the high carbon footprint of moving the vast amounts of water needed for the process. In addition, whilst they're pissing about with fracking, they're not concentrating on genuine advancement in renewable energies, as opposed to tokenist ****e that we've got at the minute with those hideous and vastly inefficient wind turbines. The areas that have already been granted licences for fracking are largely in my neck of the woods in Yorkshire and in the NW around Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria.
your points sound quite reasoned to me. i do think the issue is around north sea drying up and this is the next plan. i think the really big wind farm i've seen in parts of germany and how the solar company thier greens set up tanked show that reaaly the trouble is real renewables don't yet exist. china is building nuclear like mad now... is that where we'll go? I heard the whole of england but not scotland was just chock full of frackable ng.
I know a fair bit about renewables and it's an area that needs massive investment if it's to gain some real traction. While energy companies are being sidelined smashing up the crust on which we live, looking to drain the last dregs out of gas and oil out of our shores, they're not going to give their full commitment to renewables - it'll remain a tax efficient sideshow. Nuclear is proven to the most efficient method of production, so yes we need push on with it, build them underground in remote areas maybe? Northern England is the main area in which they think there's plenty of gas /oil to be had, but there's also a large chunk of the South East that's also considered to be rich pickings - however, I'd have my house on the North being where 95% of the activity takes place if the Tories have their way....................
i think yes you are right, massive investment to gets smaller individual returns like a wind farm cost x to give a small overall wattage output. and yes it really is a tax sideshow and yes as long as they are not polluting the Thames and the Henley regatta i'm sure they won't care about rest
I don't know the details of this law- but from what's been said about it on here it seems bollocks. Always like to hear both sides first though. Surely even parliament aren't dumb enough to pass the law unless there is something positive about it.
Tobes look at this Only 4 mins, cheers for the clarification. This guy has done a bit of research, the so called mudslide in Colorado was high pressure sand and the CO2 they pumped into the ground over years finally went pop, this is unbelievable. No rain no snow.. mudslide The sheer size of this eruption from the mountains!. Tremors earthquakes.. The guy's FB and YT accounts have been getting much oil shill attention. That in it's self shows he is close to the truth
It's happening lad, Queeny is sorting it out. have a gander. the greater Manchester police literally work for Igas
The queen can't WRITE legislation- so parliament has to approve it. Even if the queen has lost her marbles- everyone else in parliament would have to have lost theirs too. EDIT: Just read news... she's not pushing for it... it's in her speech handed to her by the government. Nutters! Incidentally, fracking needn't be as harmful as it is. They use poisonous chemicals in the process but benign alternatives exist... if we have to have fracking- they should at least put more of an oversight on it and restrict chemicals used to protect water supplies. I have mixed views on fracking. In general though I believe it is great as long as they don't do it anywhere near me! Wouldn't want any fracking done near me though.
You probably know better than I. Lets see what happens. Looks to be the case though. Parliament losing their marbles, no, parliament being very close to energy folk, yes.
it's happening, under the guise of a A green lawenvironmental law it seems http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/jun/04/queens-speech-fracking-trespass-law-changes The queens speech apparently, nothing to do with her and the law.
This law has roots much earlier in 29th century where it was more about people striking oil in thier back garden. The government own everything under your house so whether they drive the channel tunnel or a frs king pipe I don't know that anything can be done as voting labour guys gets another type of spiv to do it
.. Guardian BTW fols it's also against the law for them to spy on you and monitor all communications but they do it anyway, law is no protection.
Yeah- whether it is green is rather grey. Natural Gas is much better for the environment as a whole than coal or oil... but it can be quite devastating to the local community. It's green... except for where the actual fracking is done. There you can get poisoned water supplies, minor tremors, etc. They may call it "green" but I suspect the real motivation is more security related. Natural Gas at home- less reliant on foreign energy. It's easier to sell "green" than "security" these days- especially when it involves drilling near your home and polluting your water. People feel pretty secure from foreign threats... but green is cool.
