Just seen Albert Riera has been released by Watford ...is that the same one who played for us? And also Lucas Neil...weren't we linked with him once and he turned us down?
In recent years we haven't had much bargaining power. Now, having finished 2nd we look serious again, we have CL football, and that's enough to make us a more attractive proposition. Also, you'd hope that the improvement has given FSG some encouragement to go for some decent targets- they must realise that now we really need to do some serious strengthening to be able to compete on all fronts. I'm happy that we're looking for good players rather than big names, let's hope they're the right ones.
I think the likes of Can, Moreno and Shaqiri will join us quite soon. But I expect some big deals to be announced after the WC ...
Excited by Shaqiri, always thought he was a great player since he performed well for Basel, but I really don't know much about Can. My worry is that young midfielders typically don't have a huge impact on games until they mature a little - we need a dominating midfielder to come into the first XI now and boss players around.
Costa apparently passes a medical at Chelsea ahead of £32m move. Muller also apparently having talks about his future. Would be a very good signing.
If we get Emre "Bis"can, Lambert, Shaq, Moreno, and Lallalalala - will that be it for the summer? That's quite an expenditure by itself... presumably some will leaving.

That's not necessarily a bad thing depending on which Lucas we're talking about. The one Rafa signed... the one that Rafa signed became... or the one he is now.

So that's Lambert £4m+ Emre BisCan £10m Lallana £25m (estimated offer) We've allegedly already placed close to £40million in bids already this summer. If we've actually placed bids on Moreno and Shaq or anyone more- we could have over £50- £60mill worth of offers sitting out there waiting for teams to accept (or in Lambert's case accepted)... and it's only just turned June. Not sure how much we're going to sell to offset this... but it already looks like a more expensive summer than normal.
That is simply hilarious.... They have what 2,3 lb options so they want to toss thier only forward away after one season and buy an lb.... That is truly funny even if real.
RHC did say his mate said we had a £60 mill budget before sales, so if we get all the targeted players,if we want more, it will be a case of selling first. who has value? Reina,Lucas,Agger,Skrts.
