It's a quandry, some say no to returning players, others it will depend on who they are.

There are now strong indications we have contacted Earnie with a view to him returning home to play for the club he loves.
If bellamy was to return we would have two hometown boys who will run their guts out for us IMO.
But do you think its a good move, or perhaps we should let this one pass?

Either way, reports of more players in talks and be part of us by next week is good news.

It couldn't hurt in my eyes, as long as we're not wasting money by spending too much. What with CB's knackered legs only being able to play 1 game a week it would be good to have Earnie as a back up for that in a midweek game when called upon, as well as being a squad player.
You're right about the signings tho, I hope we get that defender from 'Boro, I'd go so far to say our defence would be sorted then

I've no problem with players returning so long as they are still good enough to contribute to the overall squad. I'm sure thats the criteria MM would work to. The 'returning hero' factor is for the fans but, for me, would just be a bonus. :)

" Returning Players who give all for the club "

In todays day of age I can't think of many, Bellers, Earnie and maybe in a few years Rambo & Bale

    Edit.

Bale not Ex City but still think he would give his all.

And please no one wake me up from this brilliant dream.

It's like meeting old girlfriends, sometimes the memories are better.

I think Earnie would be worth a punt. Him and Bellamy as the 'little' strikers with the option of Bellamy on the left. Not sure Earnie fits in a front 3 if that's the way MM goes. Again, a nice problem to have. I hope he's being looked at because he fits MMs proposed style of play rather than apeasing the fans.

    Let the optomism begin.

    LOL SBFF.

I think DJ was an aquired taste. I quite liked him, but he could be an antaganist at times. It's good to have characters in the game though.

I look forward to learning about MMs style. He says he understands the passion of the Cardiff fans. I hope he uses that to his advantage, to motivate the players and to become the twelfth man (don't like the phrase but it gets the message across), brining back the fear factor of Ninian Park.

Would like to see Esrnie back but I think he'll be used as a squad player not first choice. If he's happy with that then crack on and get him in.

It's the road to a Rocky ruin if we get Rambo The Specialist in but this Demolition Man will be great for the 90+ minute Cliffhanger.
I hear a deal can be done for some Tango & Cash.
Shall i get my coat? :)

Would I have Earnie back hell yes!!

Earnie is a goal scorer and will score given the chance put on top of that the fact he would work his socks off for us and the club because he loves us as much as we love him and it could only be a good move IMO.

Also if the reported 13k a week he was on at forest is correct a snip compared to Chops for a very good replacement!

I would also accept Earnie back, as I too think he would be a good move for both. But I think we as fans would have to see that he probably would not be the player he was for us and accept his new role in the team. Backup/Impact player.

Would we make any money should Johnson be sold for £10 mill ?
As for Earnie. Yes i would have him back, i think he still has what it takes as long as he stays injury free.

I don't remember there being any sell on clause in RJ's contract, that contract was drawn up when the club was desperate and just wanted the money, they probably weren't in any position to negotiate "add ons" with the Tax man knocking on the door ;)

    Shame though
