The way he put his tweets addressing them as Lallana wants to leave, Lallana this etc etc. surely if it was some one talking on Lallana's behalf he would have worded it different. If it is his agent he is saying how Lallana feels anyways, there has been no denial by Lallana at all.

Blackmore spoke to Lallana's agent on Saturday. I know this, because I tweeted Blackmore that it is a shame he gets all his facts from Lallana's agent and he replied that he hadn't spoken to him today or yesterday. This was Monday. Therefore, he HAS spoken to Lallana's agent pretty recently - but the most recent stuff is coming from elsewhere. Would Lallana really bother to do it himself though?

Not really hard thing to do, all he has to do is phone Blackmore and have a moan. Knowing he will leak it as the guy has a big mouth.

Oddly, I'm more disappointed that Lallana isn't concentrating on England than the fact he wants to leave. Just enjoy the greatest event of your life - and then worry about your bumper pay day when you come back!

Call me naive, but I think this is pretty much all the work of Lallana's agent and the media running with it. I'm sure it's true that ideally he'd like a move to Liverpool, but he'd be stupid to make any comments personally that could bite him on the arse later. His agent is paid to do this stuff, so why not let him get on with it?

It also gives him deniability. If it turns out that he doesn't get the move he'd like, he can still come back into the fold and say "I heard about some interest from Liverpool, but I was always happy to stay", etc, and no-one can prove he is lying. He probably is concentrating on England while his agent gets busy back at home.

Probably. All it will take is a couple of Cruyff's and a Roulette, and the fans will love him again. He knows what football fans are like.

Whilst I love your enthusiasm... And I would love it if this was the case as it would deff make it easier to build a team around players that know each other better... There is no smoke without Fire.

The agent represents the player and the players views. If he is speaking out of turn then I look forward to him being sacked.

He certainly won't be running around without a players knowledge.

Lallana is 26 and next season at 27, he would most likely still command the same price of £25m, that is being reported by the media recently.

Southampton should try to keep this guy as they will still get the same amount of money from him next season. If and only if, he has the same good season as before.

I have just speed read all 1000 plus posts on the Lallana thread, and it turns out that everything has been said that could be said.
I will therefore no longer be reading this thread.
As a Mod on the Southampton board, I realise that this an abdication of my responsibilities. I'm therefore asking for your help; if you see any posts on this thread which are sexist, racist or in otherwise break the board rules, please PM me, or contact TSS, Chilcosaint or st_brendy.
Obviously, if any posts are speculative, based on unsubstantiated rumour or a massive and unsubstantiated extrapolation without any justification, then that's exactly like the vast majority of the threads on here are. Please don't bother me with these ; they are apparently all valid. #rollonnextseason.

  16. Lallana, 26 and costs £30m

    Fabregas, 27 and costs £30m

Not sure there is much of a argument there

Difference is Lallana is a year younger, he is Engllish and Southampton dont want to sell him.

Fabregas on the other hand is not wanted wanted by Barca.

next season he'll be 26 (for the vast majority of it). next summer he'll be 27.

    you probably meant that though.

edit: lallana and fabregas both born in may, makes comparing age fairly straightforward tbh.

Why would we sell basically two – if not three (if you count Lovren) – of our best players in an already fine squad to the same team, who were near enough at the start of the season to being competitors (if you take our 8th place finish, and their previous season’s [not this season] top 8 finish)? That’s got to be complete numbskullery of the highest order – in terms of a message to send out. Surely it’s almost unheard of for a team in a strong league finishing position to sell a brace of such highly-regarded players to the same team in one go (not spread across two seasons like the Arsenal-Man City axis)? This is what baffles me. What the hell does that do to the perception of us by the public and the feeling within the squad?
