According to Wiki, Koeman is already our manager.

I don't really know Koeman as a manager but I have seen good things. Could somebody say what his preferred style is as I have read somewhere that he likes the more direct long ball style. He isn't the Dutch version of Sam is he?

Based on nothing but gut-feel, I think he'll be fine for us. Not spectacular, not as exciting a style as Poch, but a steadying hand and fine. He'll probably fall out with a few people, stay for a couple of years and then move on with us a solid upper mid-table Premiership team. I can't help but shake the feeling that under Poch we were but a couple of players short of doing something rather special though......

His team finished as the highest goal scoring team this year and qualified for CL.
So i would say no. :)

Koeman can fill the gap and keep us steady until Tuchel wants to get back into football. :)

Well Poch owes us so Sigurdsson can come. And if Koeman can bring a couple in from Feyenoord it starts to look like not such a bad melt-down after all. #crossedfingers

Yes I'm feeling strangely optimistic. His teams score lots of goals which was maybe one if the few question marks about MP's style. I don't think our players will forget all that they learnt under MP so should benefit from a new coach and his thinking. I have this feeling we will not miss the departing players but instead will take yet another small step forward and upward.

Man City -> Galatasaray -> Southampton.

Interesting career trajectory for a manager.

Edit: not the right thread is it? Keeping it here anyway. I refer of course to Mancini.

Why are people happy with Koeman but seem pretty anti-Magath?

Magath is a good manager though. He improved a dreadful Fulham team towards the end of the season, but couldn't keep them up. To be honest, they were dreadful. He won the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg which is pretty impressive you have to say.

Magath has been more successful than Koeman in his career?

As I mentioned on the other thread I am a member of another football forum which is much more open so more fans from from different places talking about football in general. There was talk about Koeman becoming Saints boss on there and some people who follow Dutch/Portuguese/Spanish leagues gave their opinions, here is what some of them said.

2 points firstly, there is a user on that forum called MLG (who is also quite well known on Saintsweb I believe) who is very easy to troll and wind up because he is very deluded so quite a few opinions may be just to get a rise out of him, I've tried to leave as many of them out as possible.

Secondly this isn't meant to be a positive or negative endorsement of Koeman, just thought people may like to hear what people who seem to know more about him say. Anyway here they are

Again I'm not trying for this to come across as a negative post (although it may seem like it), just curious as to why a lot of people are excited about Koeman? (Bar the fact that we will have a manager in place)

He was in charge of a Valencia team when all those good players were young!

Vincente was over rated. Albelda was getting on. Joaquin over rated and injury prone.

Villa is the obvious quality who was in his prime.
