Can you prove we would've gone into extinction? We just would've dropped like a stone through the leagues. It's funny when people seem to act as if Allam is our saviour, but completely forget what happened in the late 90s. Those around then were the real heroes. If anything, Warren Joyce is the true saviour of Hull City.
without the allams we would of been . lets be serious for once we was on deaths door before the allams came in and i will be for ever grateful. thanks.
I'm not aware of any other parties interested in taking Hull City off Bartlett's hands. City were sinking, and sinking fast. At best all that we could have hoped for was someone to pick up the tab after administration (which effectively would have been liquidation). Whether we like Allam's decision making since that point in time, I fully believe without him, at best, we would be in League 2 now as a "New Co" - which ironically would have made it somewhat easier for Allam to change name!
We have just had the most successful season our history, we're in the most high profile league in the world and in Europe. Yet we still fail the negotiate a good sponsorship deal. Words fail me. £1m per season is pathetic. As for the a journalism that is terrible. "The Mail understands" well then it's obvious bollocks. 3 months ago Ehab stated there where no sponsorship deals in place if the name changed.
Yes, because one place difference would not have generated the sales, tickets and prize money that the FA Cup did. More than that, the FA Cup increased the clubs profile far more than one place could ever do, (unless we won the PL).
While the Cup run was no doubt lucrative, it came with assorted costs (players' bonuses above all, but also the logistics of several matches culminating in a Cup final). The "profit" from the Cup run will be miles below the gross total of ticket sales, TV revenue, prize money etc. A couple of places up the league, meanwhile, would have meant more prize money with no extra outlay (unless players have position-related bonus clauses, rather than just survival-related ones).
I try to read most posts to keep up to date with what my fellow Hullensians are talking about... This post is the most ridiculous one I've read in months
I'm an absolute cynic, and have nothing at all to base this on other than that, but what if someone, possibly in a position to know the ins and outs, was looking to buy the club? Stories that it was sliding towards oblivion, would make it something that could be bought very cheaply, take the points hit to clear the debts and build again AND make it quite attractive. Perhaps, someone else spotted another opportunity on the horizon and took advantage of the 'situation'? Paying off the debts rather than taking the points hit and lower initial costs was after all, a calculated gamble.
I spotted that but I'm guessing as it was a deal from the championship they didn't put that much research into it, also it would difficult to find an annual payment for that deal.
Yes I am. I'm proud that I can distinguish the difference between fact (something Mr Allam doesn't say) and bollocks (stuff constantly dribbling from his head hole). Stop reading the HDM and taking it as gospel. The name change would NOT have made us a force in world football and the name change would NOT have created a multi, multi million pound sponsorship deal FFS! The amount of ****e which has been spewed out by the HDM and those 2 Herbert's is staggering! There more than likely wasn't a ****ing Asian IT company at all!!!
