Liverpool's offer isn't ridiculously low from their perspective. Saints' demands for 30m are ridiculously high. They don't have a whole lot to lose here. If Lallana makes a big enough stink that we have to get rid, they get their man at their price (or better). If we hang on to Lallana, they simply move on to another target with the added bonus of having unsettled a pretty good player from a pretty good team. And if the whole Lallana/Saints thing blows up big time the club implodes and this turns into mass exodus, they can possibly pick up Lovren on the cheap who is probably better for them anyway.

Doubt the whole team would implode and I also doubt that is in Liverpool's thinking. They are a big enough club and well off enough to have a choice of several players. Lallana is on their list, but I don't think he is the be all and end all of their plans. They went high enough from their point of view and will just move on to another player. This is another reason why Adam is spitting....he can see the whole thing escaping from him. Lallana isn't essential to Liverpool...he's just one on their list...and I'm sure they don't bear us any more ill will than any other team in the league.

It's really just related to the not606 iphone app, which is irredeemably broken now in lots of other ways and I'm not sure anyone still uses it.

Not sure what you are saying here.

All of the above have done good things at Saints but we have also criticised aspects. Difference being that Cortese, Adkins and Lambert were effectively removed from their posts. (Pushed out, Sacked and bid accepted.) Lallana and Pochettino on the other hand have publically stated their position as 'not a problem, I have 1 year left on my contract' and I want to play for Saints forever if they want me and in a short time said **** you, better offer, I'm off

I don't see many of the criticisms of Krueger and Liebherr or Reed for that matter being that bad. Many are just putting 2+2 together and coming out with 5,6 and 7. There is nothing there for people to actual deduce the facts whereas the others there are.

So the difference Mikey is that Lallana and Pochettino said 'don't worry, we love Saints and in a very short time frame then said Ha, ha, fooled ya. Gullable bastards. Saints means **** all to us

All 6 people; Cortese, Katharina, Lambert, Pochettino, Adkins, Lallana (Kruger hasn't had time yet) have done great things for Saints, however some have acted honourably in their exit (unless you believe Cortese is actioning a masterplan of spite) whereas Pochettino and Lallana have not and in effect spat in the faces of the fans and the badge itself.

And yes if Lallana and Lambert turn up at Saints next season, Lambert will get a stand up ovation and Lallana will be booed.

Playing devil's advocate a bit here, but in fairness to both Poch and Adam, the circumstances around which they joined the club/signed a new contract have significantly changed in that time period....

Sounds like Shaqiri is close to signing for Liverpool. This could change things considerably.

I don't think they're going to bump the offer significantly for Adam which leaves us with two options - either he has a great WC and we try and flog him for a big price to someone else, or we need to smooth things over with him, and he with us. Going to be interesting.

When Ronald comes in and tells him he is the new Johan Cruyff and he's going to lead us to glory, Adam will hold his head high and lead us on to trophy winning glories for years to come.....

    .... or something like that.

Playing the devil's advocate........with all the media training these people have, they should be more careful about what they say because it can often come back and bite them on the ass!!!

Is it not true that we have media training (and have had for a decade or more) as part of the academy setup? And poch has had David to hide behind.

Saying 'I love you' is easy. If the other partyfinds out you don't mean it will end in a bitter divorce.

If he goes we can replace him. Lets be honest if some-one had offered £25m a year ago we'd have snatched their hands off, IMHO Morgan Vic and Lovren are the key players we need to build the team around.

I reckon that is all absolutely correct and very pragmatic.

I still rather add Lallana and Jay Rod to that core.

I would tend to disagree, with your comment.
The club say we are still striving to improve, with European competition the aim.
I don't think that is in anyway different to the aims when MP joined and Adam signed a new contract.
The only significant difference, since then, is the departure of Cortese.
Guan has indicated a £35m transfer pot, potentially more, to be made available to the new manager, so I don't think they could argue, lack of ambition.

I think both guys were tipped off about other club interest, and just decided to go for it.
It's just a shame that both have done it in such a way, that it is causing ongoing problems for the club and supporters.
