Aww poor rich footballers having to spend too much on everyday things like the rest of us when people realise they have vastly over inflated wallets. People would give a right arm and a leg to earn half what they do and they are worried about losing out on a bit more than they should so John the builder can treat his family to a holiday or buy his kids some nice clothes or electrical goods. The stench of hypocrisy is ridiculous, they are themselves consumed by money but when the tables are turned and someone treats them in the same vain they start crying. Bloody footballers!
who cares about off field allegations, if he scores us goals then no one will give a monkeys. we're only in discussions, theres probably a good chance we wont sign him given that £2m is quite a big fee for a player in the SPL. he could be a good player to go some way to replacing the strikers we've lost.
Word is we could get him cheaper as they don't really want to sell to opposition. It's whether we we take a chance on him not getting banged up is the point Swamp, then it would be an expensive buy.
fair enough, ive had a look on wikipedia and he does look like a bit of a troublemaker, i agree you dont really want one at your football club, but still, if he scores the goals for us, and he comes relatively cheap then happy days
Nailed it there Drew. To quote Taylor: "There are car dealers, for example, who see footballers as a way to make easy money" however, "Mr Taylor, 23, has funded the project from his own wages, and will earn income from listing fees and advertising charges paid by the companies it features" Still, if we get him, and he resolves our LB problem, that's all I'm really bothered about.
Well if he can get that trouble behind him then I guess many wont be complaining when he bangs home the winners during the season, thats for sure Swamp
Indeed, as my favourite saying of the moment goes "don't hate the player, hate the game" And yeh that's all I care about too, was just annoyed enough to rant about it, doesn't help I'm skint at the moment myself haha. Let's be honest he can't be any worse than Naylor, has anyone been on the 'Boro board to enquire about how good he is?
Swamp, if the club is 100% certain the guy isn't going behind bars then "who cares" until then I care because £2 million can be spent elsewhere and there are other strikers out there to be had.
Come on guys,if there's cold hard cash about lets spend wisely. You'll be suggesting we take Leon Jeanne back next.
An ex "player" Quote from wiki: "(in 2001) Just a few weeks after joining Cardiff he tested positive for a class A drug and was handed a two-year suspended sentence by the FAW. He started to show his quality with two appearances for the first team after the ruling but at the end of the season yet another situation arose. In May 2002 Jeanne was selected for random drugs testing but and Jeanne sent his sample away but the results came back only to show that the sample he had submitted was not urine. He refused to provide a second sample which led to Cardiff terminating his contract and he left the club" Rumour has it he has his eye on Brighton (no pun intended) ADDED: In June 2011 Jeanne joined Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion for pre-season training in a bid to earn a contract and play football at a high level once more.
How can you stop a laughing fit ? Told the misses I've going to have Goodwillie on the back of my shirt
The boy's only turned 22, young player of the year. No we don't need baggage but I'm sure MM can sit him down and ensure he stays focus at this club. Building a new team and bringing in two players from the same club can also benifit as they can know each others game and can bring that in line with our exsisting team. Sign him up. Earnie and Bellers, job done.
Will still need a target/hold up forward, tallest of the above is Goodie 5' 9" and injury replacements
I think we need to remember the likes of Quinn were troublesome players when they come here. But now they're first teamers. There are very strong rumours that the charges against Goodwillie are to be dropped. I mean come on, do you think clubs would be sniffing around him if he was likely to go to jail?
