It appears in some kind of pointless response, that many are sending their pass renewal forms back in various forms of 'dirty protest' against the name change, presumably in turn resigning their right to support the club they love. As so many seem to be following the lead of David Conn, and that of myself, in becoming ex-fans, what will it take you to join the legions of anti-Premiership York City and/or Ferriby followers? Reply as you wish, either intelligently, or as seems to be the majority view, with scant thought and predictability.
The people returning their forms torn up, or not returning them at all, are not changing clubs, they're simply not buying season tickets. Most will still attend games, they'll just be selective about which games they attend.
I was brought up to never give up, so I'll carry on, but it feels more like sitting at the bed side of a loved one, waiting for the flat line far more than it feels like supporting a vibrant football club. I've pondered before on what a football club actually is, and it's very difficult to define as it isn't a single or solid entity, but what a club is, isn't how Hull City feels to me at the moment. I don't put all the blame with the Allams either. They're a small symptom of a much bigger malaise in the game.
I guess presumably that when/if York/Ferriby become Premier league clubs that those like yourself will stop following them too? Seems like you're jumping on a bit of a bandwagon there yourself. I was attending Ferriby games in the mid-late 1990's, were you too? Or have you just started the last couple of seasons? Nowt wrong with protesting as you see fit.
All fool them for not renewing. How many would have renewed if the price had stayed near to last seasons? How many would have renewed if the name change had gone ahead? Non attendance was scorned last season, I said that I would never go to watch Hull Tigers and I was one of the few who took that stance. Now a price increase and a seat move has it seems motivated more to stop going than the actual name change if it had gone ahead. But Mussie you crave for something that is alien to some football supporters, you are actually the opposite of me. I am not a football supporter I am a Hull City supporter. Standing in the rain watching lower league football does not inspire me. Most football supporters dream of seeing their club in the Premier League. It always seemed to be a far off dream for Hull City and yet here we are, without you of course. I understand your view, I just do not share it. I totally agree that the Premier League has changed the sport and turned it into entertainment for the masses. TV money and huge player wages have destroyed the tradition, but that is the way it is, if you want to cling on to the past, that's fine, but its not for me.
Whoever cancelled their pass out of spite is a bit of a clown in all honesty. Hey-ho. Their loss. Maybe we could take a banner in support of the knicker wetting pass cancellers with us on our jollies to show live on ITV4. It could say something like "ha ha. Silly ****s"
But does it not occur to you that most of those who aren't renewing passes will still be attending games in Europe? You haven't really thought this through, have you?
Carrying on. Seen off Lloyd, Hinchliffe, Fish and co- they never stopped me going. The club is under threat just as in the above years, and the present owners will take their ball home when the adulation and reflected glory wears off. When they do, we'll be there to wave them good riddance.
I've no doubt they'll be at the games against the likes of Zorya Luhansk or Mlada Boleslav. But if/when we get to play the likes of Inter Milan, Sevilla, Fiorentina, Wolfsburg etc. ? Even the like of PSV, FC Twente, Saint Etienne... You know, the big games in this competition we're all looking forward to? Can't see them being short of demand.
i was there when there was 3000 in the third division so i am not going to stop going now they are in the premiership prices are going up of course which is a bit disappointing but these times won't last forever, players managers owners will all change relegations promotions will happen but at the moment its now that counts and i have got to say i look forward to games for the full day not just the match but the anticipation the social gathering match of the day ect. Its nice for every football fan through out the country to now recognise Hull City not like many years ago when people in our own city never even mentioned the name Hull City. I would call myself an Hull City fanatic i think about City all week travel to as many away games as i can how ever the one thing i have tried to change is to Enjoy it while i can and i try not to let other things outside of the team get to me all this name change rumours of which players we are bringing in ect well even though i have an interest i try not to let all the moans and groans get to me because having gone for so long and seen so many bad times then as i said earlier i try to enjoy the moment so yes i am renewing my pass but like most things in life prices never seem to come down which is a shame because i am sure there are many who will miss out who would love to go.
When you can't support your own club, don't people tend to support clubs from their own country? Like us English tend to support whatever English clubs are playing in the champions league, don't you yorkshiremen support fellow Yorkshire clubs?
