Could someone please send a stick over the pond as we don't seem to have one in Ireland Attivo's Each Way Bet of the day (-2 points) Queen Hermione @ 10/1 3.20 Nottingham Good Luck!
In the old scheme of things today would be Derby Day and the start of the Epsom Meeting. Instead we have a rum card at Colwick with an all-weather meet not 15 miles away. Saves on shipping costs I suppose. Well done to Attivo again for beginning the daily thread before the previous days racing has even started. I'm sure Ronnie Barker could write a sketch about it. No honestly, well done, because the first foot in the puddle is often the most difficult to take (and I know that from experience). So I will be upset but not impecunious if Dalmatia doesn't win.
If I were a betting man (which I'm currently not), I'd be very interested in Milgen Bay in the 4.10 Fontwell at an early price of 4/1 with Bet365. Oliver Sherwood's Generous gelding has some decent pieces of form throughout his career, particularly when 3rd behind Our Mick and Bless The Wings in a novices handicap chase a couple of years ago. After a nice break since last October he has had 2 runs in Hunter Chases this term, finishing close up in both starts under 7lb claimer Leo Mahon. In both races (over 2m4f) he was noted staying on again at the finish and is stepped up to 2m6f tomorrow, back in handicap company, and has a certain A P McCoy doing the steering.
Nottingham 14.20 Crawford Avenue ran promisingly on début and should be in the first 3 14.50 Rozene is the lazy pick. Recently 2nd over C&D on only her 3rd race 15.50 Remote. Progressive at 3. Should be good enough for this on reappearance 16.20 Etaab (nap) 17.20 Camelopardalis Off out.
TAWS 4.50 Nottingham 12-1 is very interesting now he steps into handicap company. The whole pedigree screams "middle distance" and his last two runnings have seen him running on from hopeless positions. He races off a very handy 57 tomorrow and for good measure he has a seven pound claimer up. Looks just the type to take a 3yo handicap now stepping up again in trip and it looks like the money is coming for him too!
Not looked at the cards yet oddy , but Milgen / McCoy combination will be intresting and definatly worth a look
Cailin Annamh 3/1 Punchestown 6:20 - fell on her chase debut but duly obliged when odds on fave next time up, i think this rates a fair chance for her to take her tally to 2 from 3 over the big sticks. Decent race but question marks lurk among many of her rivals and she should improve for the win nd experience LTO here this eve. For those interested Cailin Annamh (Call - een On-Uv) (Calleen Onuv) translates to Rare Girl in English. That's all for today's Irish lesson ! Best of luck lads and lasses.
Stick - just been sent these mate See how much he has improved in such a short time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1LWRnhiQRA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vByyCOy-30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DStQCBOxSIw
Agree with Ron ,, I think Remote is best bet of the day ,, never mind ten stone I think he could be carrying 12 stone and still win in a canter !
Derbyshire 19:10 Ripon Wins and pays back for money invested last year 5/2 with PP at the mo stay frosty
Morning all So happy that Adaay managed to produce the goods yesterday, was probably my niggest bet since starting this 2yr race project and 11/8 was a steal!!!!! On to today and with the weather being like it is I feel it could be very dodgy for punters: 220 NOTT- Crawford Avenue 330 SOU_ Denzil Lane 640 RIP- Geordie George Nap Not big stakes though. Good luck
Morning, crew. Hope everyone on board well. Amy’s Dad appears to have a good one in DERBYSHIRE up at Rippers (7.10). He looks very leniently treated off just 64, I say 64, considering he went off at just 3/1, on debut, for one of the hottest maidens of the year last term at the Ebor Festival. If he can’t oblige off such a low mark then I’d be amazed especially when you consider his opponents don’t look the greatest bunch ever assembled. By the end of the campaign should be competing in events far above this, methinks. Whilst, Mr Henderson’s NEW HORIZONS really should win the lucky last at Fonters Park (5.40). The gelding is superbly bred being by Presenting and out of a dam whose is a half-sister to Denman. Purchased for the comparatively cheap sum of 40,000 guineas last summer old girl Lady Tennant could have made a shrewd acquisition here. Good luck, all.
Derbyshire is 30 lb well in according to connections -will hose up if that's the case-5/2 seems a give away!!!
