I read they bring in about £6million a year, plus the benefit to local business, and it means we get the pitch relaid every year.

They are good for the club, and the city, despite the ****e acts.

2m into the local economy per gig. It would be stupid to stop. Beside, like them or loath them we've just had the biggest boy band on the planet. It's a good thing.

So no chance of ever having pre season games?

How much would an invatation cup bring in?

Sure some of you would like to see an AC Milan etc at the SOL in pre season, not some ****ing simon cowell ****e.

U2 and Lady Gaga next year IF SoL get their way. Supposed to be 2 of the 6 concerts they are trying to get next year.

I went to the Sprinsteen one and although the bloke was on stage a long time it was a decent show nowt special.

I have seen better bands at an open Mic night than the crap they have on SOL.

I agree but nobody I've seen at an open mic night would sell out the stadium of light. We need to look at the bigger picture. Lady Gaga would sell the place out consecutive nights. Yeah she's ****e but all I see is pound signs for the club and local area. Or we can just let Sid James take that money into their local economy.

The quality of bands has certainly slid in recent years

Coldplay the best so far IMO

all the bands who have played bar oasis have been ****. but you cant deny the bring in a lot of money for the club and local economy. i would love to see a big pre season tournament but to turn our back on the revenue that these concerts bring would be a mistake in my opinion. the club are trying to have more concerts next close season then ever before and i will be happy if this continues to bring extra cash in for the clubs coffers. on top of that it raises the profile of the club and city which can only be a good thing

Would love to mate, but we'd be lucky to see a million off that, bigger picture. These concerts get national coverage as well so there is an element of promotion involved for club & city.

Would be amazing, seen them at Wembley and the light show was mind blowing. Could have been the 'continental snouts' beforehand like...

People just aren't interested in home pre-season games, we got 25k vs. Juventus and 19k vs. Ajax, financially it's just better to have concerts.
