No. That's the end of that then.

Whose spent more so far Chelsea, Liverpool or United?? Here's a hint, Chelsea have spent less of the three this window.

The trouble with this argument is that it is not as straightforward as it seems. First wages are a club's biggest expense, but most see this in terms of transfers only. When it comes to transfers, people rarely take into account that often players are sold to purchase others eg Carroll was bought from the Torres money and finally when does a player's transfer fee not count any more. To me the money paid for Drogba and Essien at Chelsea and Arshavin at Arsenal still count as they still play for the clubs that bought them.

    Completely pointless

Every team goes and buys players (even Arsenal) with the view that those players will improve their squad with th eultimate aim of trying to challenge for the league title (even though realistically there are only 4 or 5 potential winners of the EPL each season every team starts the season with the aspiration to win the league however unrealistic that may be) - THEREFORE it goes without saying that (in varying degrees) every team is BUYING THE LEAGUE or in reality BUYING THE OPPRTUNITY TO WIN THE LEAGUE.

I think pineapple on pizza's should be against the law, as should well done steak. I mean, why take a perfectly good piece of steak and cook it until all the juice has dried up and it tastes like burnt leather?

I haven't seen this rumour anywhere else. Is this why we haven't bought any players yet? It will be kind of pointless to buy players if we can just buy the league. Smart thinking from the board considering UEFA's fair play rules.

I'm quite impressed that a Gooner has pointed this out. Usually it's the Gooners claiming that their spending is so much lower than everyone else's, conveniently ignoring the fact that their wage costs are around the same level as United and Liverpool, and twice as much as Spurs. Good on you <ok>

Not wanting to point out the obvious, but we will still have spent less than you guys did on Torres and Luiz in January. But yes, this thread does seem to be nothing but a pointless WUM.

P.S. Pineapple on pizza is just wrong. Phahkt.
