Smart, I like it. Serious though, if we gave him 3 years at 60k week, he's cost around £18million all told, less a suggested value of £6million. That's £4million a season for genuine quality, and in this day and age, seems more than viable to me.
TBH Sid, I have real concerns that the spelling of his name may be beyond some of our supporters The possibilities are endless, Joleon Lescott Julian Lescott Julian Lesscost Let's stick to the likes of Billy Jones eh
That's a good point. Say we give him 60k p/w for 3 years, that would cost us about £8.5m, £11.5m if we gave him a 4 year deal. This is of course doesn't account for agent fees, bonuses etc. However if Poyet and Congerton think it would be worth it I certainly wouldn't complain That being said I'd be surprised if he ended up anywhere that isn't London
I call Friday nights my free nights mate and there is always a starting point. Got a pad change to do later but I won't let a little bit of **** get in the way of the ****e on here..
Looks like he's off to portland timber, 3 year contract £1.2m a year or £25k pw, surely not? The Portland Timbers have made an offer to Joleon Lescott, a center back who possesses plenty of experience in the English Premier League, a source confirmed to The Oregonian on Monday. The 31-year-old Lescott is not currently under contract after being released by Manchester City, where he played the past five seasons. He also has played for Wolverhampton and Everton. The Timbers and a reported $2 million offer may not be enough to acquire Lescott. EPL teams Queens Park Rangers and West Ham and Turkish squad Galatasary have reportedly been involved in talks with Lescott. However, Lescott reportedly turned down an offer from Galatasary, a QPR executive said they are no longer negotiating with Lescott, and West Ham broke off talks, saying Lescott was asking too much in salary. The Timbers' center back position has seen plenty of change this season. They have used a number of different players — Pa Modou Kah, Norberto Paparatto, Futty Danso, Rauwshan McKenzie — at the position. The Timbers traded Danso to Montreal on Monday. The Timbers have conceded 24 goals this season, tied for third-highest in MLS. The Lescott news was first reported by ESPN's Taylor Twellman.
