Adam Lallana: Southampton captain tells club he wants to leave Southampton captain Adam Lallana has told the club he wants to be allowed to leave St Mary's when he returns from the World Cup in Brazil. The midfielder has not put in a transfer request but has made his feelings known to Southampton. Liverpool have made a £25m offer for the 27-year-old Saints captain. Southampton and England team-mate Rickie Lambert moved to the Anfield club on Monday for a fee of about £4m plus add-ons on a two-year deal. Saints had previously stated that no player will be sold until a replacement is appointed for coach Mauricio Pochettino, who joined Tottenham on 28 May. Lallana scored nine goals in 38 Premier League appearances in 2013-14 and is hopeful that Southampton will appoint a new manager this week, allowing him to move before the World Cup begins. He played 73 minutes of England's 3-0 friendly win over Peru at Wembley on Friday, his fourth senior appearance for his country. He is currently in Miami with the England squad and manager Roy Hodgson has made it clear that he wanted all of the squad to have resolved their futures before the tournament gets underway in Brazil. Lallana joined the Southampton academy as a 12-year-old and has progressed through the ranks as the club fought their way back from League One. Meanwhile, Luke Shaw's proposed move to Manchester United is still on, despite talks breaking down last Friday. Southampton left-back Shaw has already been the subject of a £27m bid from United, who will hope to tie up a deal for the 18-year-old after the World Cup. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27674609
In short as nothing happened the press make up **** to explain why nothing happened This'll drag on til aug 31 for Southampton and for us I hope once we actually get someone else
agreed. It is obvious.. what does he want. loyalty bonus or CL football. simple as. If LFC move on then he is highly unlikely to get CL at all as spurs aint interested it seems. I have a fancy he may have already missed the boat on this one. I do hope so anyway as i think the deal is just not good value at 25mil at all.
He's also the club captain and handing in a transfer request could damage his relations with the club - and he does seem like a nice guy and wouldn't want to leave in such circumstances. The BBC reporters based in Soton are saying that we haven't offered £25m - we've offered a lot less with a lot of add ons. This isn't good for Soton because of the 25% they owe to Bournemouth.
I'd believe that... it'd be our way to offer a shed load of what ifs. the 25% owed elsewhere is their issue though. My point about him missing the baot is that he had his chance when this offer went in to push it and didn't. privately saying something is a whatever. If we sign someone else then the list of clubs simply not interested will be quite long starting with the big two, then utd and arsenal and his best alternative is spurs.... thats how i read it anyway. in which case...... 25mil??? are you for real.. there's nobody giving you that.
anyone hear about this little so and so. http://fullcontactlaw.co.uk/2014/05/fc-client-callum-nicholas-signs-liverpool/ osme manc has jumped ship and joined us on academy deal.
No teams ever had a one off season before diego. Except blackburn and liverpool (2001, 2005, 2009, 2014?) obviously.
don't forget..... utd 2013/14 7th... oh wait that can't be one off can it? not according to your logic....
DF... the case of the block of 4 still holds true. 90 points to win the thing, 70 for 4th. all of the top 6 can get 70 points as the quality at the bottom drops off. Getting 90 points is damned hard as Chelsea proved. everyone's base assumption is that chelsea and city will get towards 90 points therefore be top 2. By not focusing on 70 points but on 90 you go better i think; spurs historic issue is 4th 4th 4th 4th and failing and talking about record poitns totals for them. they don't ask how do we get to...
I genuinely think the best you lot could finish is 6th. The top 4 will remain the same, their respective squads are much better than United's and will certainly be further improved this summer. You have to replace almost your entire first eleven and the bench, you really think you could break into the top 4 next season, No chance in hell! You've already had the likes of Muller, Fabregas, Cavani, Kroos, Pogba rejecting the chance to join the sinking ship. Seriously why would they, they playing at bigger clubs with CL football. I think your management will soon come to realization they wasting time going after the biggest names in Europe and better off lowering their expectation a bit.
harsh one feels. 300k per week wages got city CL after 3/4 years trying. i'm sure utd can pay their way to the top 4. as long as they break arsenal.....
