Probably won't win the league but then again Chelsea were nowhere 12-13 years ago. Man City were nowhere 6-7 years ago. Miracles happen.
I have Mags in part of my family and they're fanatical but they've given up. They reckon they have no answers, no hope and no fight left in them. They know only too well that Ashley has no ambition for the club because of all the Cockney Mafia ****, the death threats, walkouts etc. They've never marched through the streets, had a mock funeral in the street or set fire to a wheely bin and hate those who do. It makes the supporters look like backward inbreds but they think it demonstrates passion They seem to miss the fact that to many people they're a laughing stock. Ashley wanted to be one of the lads and they lapped it up until he dared to sack King Keggy. Now he's just toying with them and taking the money. He knows that no one will come in to buy a club where the supporters will turn on them every time something happens that they don't like.
at this point, I am not arsed about whether we could ever challenge for a top 4 spot. I want to see us aiming to be a top 8 club, challenging for the cups and europa league spot - while playing good football. Until we're there, what is the point in even worrying about top 4 ? 50m won't be invested in 2 players by the Southampton, but will be used to be in 4 or 5 players and/or invested in youth development.
