Former Leeds striker Bobby Davison confirmed to BBC Radio Leeds he has applied for the Leeds managerial position. Davison feels he could bring success to the club having previously worked for Hungarian giants Ferencvarosi. Davison has contacted Leeds owner Massimo Cellino and is awaiting a response from the Italian. Gary McAllister ex Leeds player and manager has been rumoured to be interested in taking charge at Leeds for a second time.

Let's face it, for him to be installed as favourite someone has to have leaked the news and you would have to suspect Hockaday himself.
Well we have no chance of getting anyone who is currently employed or has a realistic chance at another job, which basically leaves Hockaday (or some other unknown of his ilk), Festa or Gibbs, and from those I'd want Gibbs.
From what we know so far as to what the role would entail, Gibbs seems to me to be the ideal candidate. Certainly ticks all the boxes. He coached the side to a 5-1 win against Huddersfield, and did the same again against Blackpool when he was the one patrolling the technical area while McDermott sat in the dugout. If Cellino insists on selecting the team, he could certainly do worse than employ Gibbs to coach them.
Gibbs would provide some stability and from what I gather would be a popular choice with the players. Cellino supposedly thinks highly of him (but then knowing him he might have already changed his mind about this).
