He's a good player and that they need to offer the going rate for him and that we're not there to take the piss out of. Somewhat paraphrased but that's the jist of it. Part of a longer interview where he also talks about letting players go. SSN (not Harry) says up to 9 to be let go.
HR did also say that if they don't pay for a quality player then he will be welcomed back.... clever HR put pressure on now then still have time to sell if they don't play ball.

I hope we keep the core of the team. I think signing players is one thing but if getting rid of too many who've worked hard is another. I think the latter could have a worse effect than signing dodgy players. I'd like us to keep Krancjar. I don't care what others have said. I rate him and think he works hard. I think he's worth a one year contract as his style is more suited to the EPL.
I agree awjm and this is where I find myself in a bit of a quandary. Our last three seasons have lacked stability due to the high turnover of players. I once heard Robbie Savage mention that it takes a player, on average, six months to settle and really feel part of the team when they move. If you have one or two of these than that's not such a big deal, especially if one of them hits the ground running. However if you have seven or eight new players coming in every season like we've done, there is no collective spirit for them to become a part of. Team spirit is as important as talent if not more so. I think we now have that collective spirit and I think we should try to retain as much of the current squad as possible with up to three or four additions. Certainly until the January transfer window anyway and then take it from there when we see where we are.
We've got the decent basis of a decent team. Sure there are some that need to go but if we get our bussiness done early and stay out of the limelight, we may get a decent squad with some togetherness... He'res to hoping second time around that they will...."GEL" !!
