http://www.thejournal.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sunderland-ready-sell-danny-graham-7200730? Sunderland are prepared to offload frontmen Danny Graham and Ignacio Scocco in a bid to finance a £10m move for Liverpool's Fabio Borini. The Black Cats are keen to bring Borini back to the Stadium of Light after he excelled while on loan last season, scoring 10 goals in all competitions and becoming a firm crowd favourite. At the end of the season, the Italian returned to Merseyside but his future at Anfield is unclear. He was only a fringe figure in his first season at Liverpool before spending last season with Sunderland. With Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge established as the Reds’ first-choice strikers – and with the club expected to announce the £4m signing of Rickie Lambert from Southampton today – Borini would appear to have been pushed even further down the pecking order. That could be the catalyst for his exit this summer and, while a possible move to his native Italy has been mentioned, Sunderland will hope Borini’s successful season in the North East has given them a realistic chance of signing the 23-year-old. Borini was Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’ first signing and he will want to recoup as much of the £12m he paid Parma for the striker’s services as possible. Sunderland would need to sell some of the players Poyet has deemed surplus to requirements. One of those is Graham, who has been a major flop since he joined from Swansea in a £5m deal from Swansea City in January last year, when Martin O’Neill was in charge. Two of Graham’s former clubs – Middlesbrough, where he spent the second half of last season on loan, and Watford - have shown interest in signing him and Sunderland will jump at the chance to get him off their wage bill. They could also look to sell Argentina international Nacho Scocco, who has hardly played since his £4m arrival four months ago. Scocco has been linked with a return to his homeland, with River Plate, Boca Juniors and Newell’s Old Boys all reportedly eyeing the 29-year-old. Poyet still has faith his January buy will come good once he has had a full pre-season programme in England. However, if the only way he could afford to bring in Borini was to sacrifice Scocco he would almost certainly be willing to make the trade. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has signed a new four-year contract with the Black Cats. The highly-rated 20-year-old, who spent spells on loan at Burton Albion and Carlisle last season, had only one month to run on his existing deal.

http://talksport.com/football/sunderland-closing-ps8m-deal-valencia-midfielder-14060293943? Sunderland are closing in on the £8m signing of Valencia midfielder Ever Banega, according to Spanish newspaper Superdeporte. Gus Poyet has reportedly scouted the Argentine midfielder, who has been named in his country's provisional World Cup squad, and is keen to bring him to the Stadium of Light. Sunderland want to strengthen their team to avoid another relegation scrap next term and have identified Banega, who has just spent time on loan in his homeland with Newell's Old Boys, as their key target. Sources close to the 25-year-old holding midfielder believe he is unlikely to re-establish himself in La Liga or continue his career in Argentina. Sunderland have been busy in the transfer market so far this summer after securing the signing of Wigan midfielder Jordi Gomez on a free transfer. Would love to know where the £8m price tag is coming from mind
The thing is the journos know the following :- 1). Gus has signed a new contract. 2). He is rebuilding. 3). A lot of players have gone out. It is very small (and easy) step to link us with anyone and everyone on the move.
@SAFCsource Seb Larsson on whether ‪#‎SAFC‬ want to keep him: Yes, they want to and it's nice. @SAFCsource Larsson: But it need not necessarily be those, I'll decide in a few days. There are proposals from different clubs. @SAFCsource Seb Larsson still hasn't decided where his future lies. http://bit.ly/1kpA0cs #SAFC Elva spelare kan byta – innan nästa match De närmaste veckorna blir betydelsefulla för Sveriges kommande EM-kval. Innan nästa landskamp kan upp till elva spelare ha bytt klubb. – Om jag vill kan jag *bestämma mig inom nÃ¥gr… aftonbladet.se
Id give him a final offer, if he doesnt take it then he can piss off Its obvious he doesnt want to be here, he wants whoever is going to offer him most (which i imagine will still be us)
Any of the linked names do Larssons job better than him? That many names fleeing about I`ve lost track already. Just wondering if we were looking at a ready made (better) replacement.
His contract will run till july 1st, your quite right though, sign up or **** off, simples I dont think it would be too difficult to improve on seb and jack, benega and mireiles (sp) would kick there arses
We've been saying this for what seems like a few weeks now. If I were GP I would have said just that before now. I wouldn't be held to ransom by him or his agent. This is the offer, sign on the dotted line now, or cheers, thanks for your service, there's the door.
Agree with this. On the one hand can`t really blame the player for hanging on as long as he can for the best offer. On the other hand it`s dragging on now. Seems like it`s a case of `I`ve had no better offers so I`ll sign for you`. If it was up to me it would be `No you won`t sunshine, had your chance, off you go`.
