i have to say i think our bid of £3.5m was incredibly fair. leeds felt otherwise so lets all move on. he is good but not so good we should blow a huge proportion of our budget on him
Personally I can't see why a player playing for a mid table championship team would want to go play for a Premier League team...... ;-) Let's be honest, the boy has ambition, he's coming to a bigger club. Colu_Logan rules, ok. FACT.
Who cares anymore, the matter is now over! Lambert made his bid, bates made his comments and that is the end of it lambo will move on to another transfer target! I think after johnson and bennett we wont see anymore midfield arrivals, it will be defence and gk next priority!
I see Leeds want £8m for Snodgrass, then want to bring in Woodgate, Smith, and Bowyer, all ex-LEEDS players on FREE TRANSFERS! Is Ken Bates tight with his money or what? He expects other clubs to part with their cash but won't spend his own!
Max Gradel is better than Snodgrass. Leeds players have a habit of not signing new contracts so Lambert is better off waiting for a while and getting them for free.
Except Gradel is already quite happy to sign a new contract and we're expecting one to be negotiated in the next couple of weeks.
Unless of course he was to get a sniff that next season might give him a shot at the prem. I would imagine he has agents taking a look around to see if he has options before he signs anything.
He's said it since interest being shown. Newcastle have been after him for a while and Swansea have been sniffing around. Max Gradel will be a Leeds player next season unless there's an offer from the top 6 PL.
These Leeds fans make me laugh. Do they not realise how short a footballers career is and that every footballer knows potentially their career could end at any moment through injury. All players want to attain the highest possible level. Because of the above they want to get there as soon as possible to ensure maximum time up there. Any lower league player who is offered a shot at the prem would grab it immediately with few exceptions. There are one or two players in the entire league who love the club they play for enough to overide the desire to progress. There are then some players who may fear the step up and are content at the level they are at. Leeds fans need to understand that despite Leeds being a massive club, the vast majority (if not all) their players would leave like a shot if a prem opportunity arose. This includes offers from teams fancied for relegation. Even just one season in the shop window is virtually priceless! The players Leeds will have next season will be there because either Leeds was the highest (in league sense) offer they got (i.e nobody in the prem came in for them) or because they are contracted to the club and Leeds did not receive any offers they considered were good enough. I am not getting at Leeds, it would have been the same for us had we stayed down. The fact remains, as things stand, if Norwich wanted any of Leeds current players enough to make an offer acceptable to Leeds, then I doubt any of their players would pass up on the chance to join us next season and those that would are short on ambition and not the kind of player PL would want anyway. Leeds will return to the prem, but until they do their fans need to accept this.
poor deluded leeds fans...you are a comedy bunch...you have almost eclipsed newcastle fans in my opinion...keep up the good work. if gradel was so desperate to stay on for however many years, he would probably have already signed on the dotted line, no?...he's not signing because he'll be off at the first decent opportunity...of course he's going to say he'll sign - because if nobody comes in for him then he has to keep up fan relations... snodgrass for 8 million is hilarious...good player, but not even close to being worth that...but then what lambert wants, he often gets...i wouldn't be surprised to read about an unexpected transfer request being handed in over the next few days...

he's not going to make a transfer request and go to all that trouble to come to norwich just because you're in the PL doesn't mean you're a massive step up, especially since you'll probably be coming down next season and it'll be highly likely any star players you buy will have average if not poor seasons due to the rest of the team not being good enough to support them. There are other clubs more likely to get Snodgrass and even they aren't going to get him. I propose that if you expect to get Snodgrass, it is you who are deluded.
