This one's for you Wubba :)

First, this is not some kind of told you so thread, all a bit of fun mate.

Thought I'd bring us back to the 2nd leg against Wigan. In fact this all started back in September when I sat next to you at the Birmingham game ;)
We shared our passion for Bobby Zamora remember, only different kind of passions <laugh>

At 0-1 down, 15 mins into the second half.
Still 1-0 down, 64 mins played and Zamora comes on.
    :emoticon-0136-giggl
    :emoticon-0128-hi:

Extra time and Super Charlie Austin makes it 2-1.
    <applause>

And if any feel the need for some soul searching this match thread might be exactly what you're looking for. The stick Hoilett got during that second leg, and throughout the whole season for that matter, is something that deserves a look in the mirror after his contribution in the semi and the final.

What's this, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission? Swords tried it, it didn't work.

    Ohhhhhh Bobby Zamora!

Easy to say with hindsight but I take my hat off to the Bobby faithful.

Nah mate, see second paragraph. I saw that train wreck from the moment it left the platform, proud to say I didn't get involved in that one.
This is only a little joke between myself and Wubba.

This "I told you so" stuff is classless. I thought you'd have more dignity than that Thor...

    Ohhhhhhhhhhhh (bloody) Bobby Zamora!

Yes my younger (and slightly better looking Northern European) friend I will put my hands up and say that despite being a complete sicknote and terrible striker for us, when it mattered, Overhead Fred (as my kids call Bobby Z) did the business. Wigan Home and Wem-ber-ley he earnt his corn.

I think at the Brum match we were attacking the other end and with my eyesight I confused Ooooh Bobby for Karl Henry. OK that's not great but in mitigation I am -

    a. Twice your age
    b. Have contact lenses like the bottom of milk bottles and most importantly
    c. Had a Guinness at the C&S beforehand.

It's well noted that despite my love of a decent claret I am no drinker, certainly not in Tooting's or Nines league.

I must also say I've been less than enamoured with David "Jnr" Hoilett who frustrates the hell out me with his final ball / end product however also at Wem-ber-ley he delivered the cross cum back pass that set Ooooh Bobby up for the finish of this generation.

This morning I got up at 7ish. Pottered about, walked the dog and then watched a great BBC2 period documentary on the '66 WC Finals. Bouyed by this and the kids still in bed I flipped the Sky+ recording of last Saturday on yet again and it was great. I think I was one of half a dozen of the 87,000 crowd in the bogs at the time of the goal.

My lad Olly, some of you met him at Hennesseys has been a reluctant Junior Hoop up until last Saturday. Now he's all fired up and ready for Burnley away again.

Yes I was wrong. Apologetic? Hell no. Happy? Yes.

Swap me Oooh Bobby Z for Del Piero and bring Alberti back. That'll do for me.

    Skal !

Excellent Wubba :) Couldn't have asked for a better reply mate. I will never forget your Zamora rant at the Brum match, that was pure comedy genius! <laugh>
None of us could have predicted how it would end!

I am of course not innocent, and guilty of Zamora bashing myself in the past, but I've always had a soft spot for him I guess :)

You could make an entire thread up quoting everyone that slagged off any one of our players ... Yes there were plenty IMO and that pissed me off however it's the same as my own ill feelings towards our manager. The fickle as I call them swing with the breeze and will soon call BZ a donkey again when he leaves and plays for e.g Brentford. The truth about BZ is that he hit a bit of form after a run of poor form and injuries ... My point is the players that wear the shirt are family IMO and it's our job to support them. The managers often today come and go very quickly but it's th eplayers that influence the matches most and it's us that influence the players ... at times as a fan base we let ourselves down recently IMO

It's everywhere. I had a few days in Suffolk last week and visited the gardens at Bressingham. On the way out there was a visitor's book for you to leave a comment, I thumbed through a couple of pages and someone had written across the top of one of the pages 'Ohhh Bobby Zamora', I couldn't help but chuckle. That chant will carry us through the close season in such good spirits...

Sooper - You are on to something here lets see who can get the chant or written word into the most obscure place - A church Wedding would be a classic and please someone record it on their phone ;o)
Chaps - A challenge is laid down for the closed season !!!!!!!!!
Maybe start this up as a new thread ??
