Compare that with sterling whos helped liverpool win nothing (lets not forget that all important 2nd.... Except if that matters then rooney has helped united finish 2nd many times.... I dont think he or anyone on earth believes thats worth getting 100k for).

Well liverpool fans have had quite a lot to say about rooneys wages so im going to say liverpool fans care an awful lot about this.

Anyway, whens sturridge getting his 200k? Suarez will be looking to leave as if sterling gets 100k he should get 500k. Hell rooneys gonna want a million.

so basically he can do **** all for the next 5 yrs but still justify 250k a week?

On Sterling:
I've made it no secret on here that I think the money paid for, and to, ball-kickers is a total disgrace- but, within the current insane context, I think paying him that amount is inevitable.
Until football either comes to its senses or implodes, then sadly this is the kind of dosh you're going to have to lavish on players to keep them happy.
If we don't pay it someone else will.

 

If a club aren't prepared to match or better his wages at yoonited he will run his contract down at OT and he'll happily bank his dosh that yoonited are bound by his contract to pay him, and then he'll be free to negotiate a move away from OT on a free, win win for him and lose lose for yoonited.

I think at this stage in their careers Sterling is more valuable than Rooney. Rooney is on a fast downhill slope and Sterling is on a fast uphill ride... very different players, but I would say going into next season- I'd rather have Sterling on my books, and would consider him more valuable.

Few years ago Rooney was good... he's been going downhill for a few seasons- and his drop is accelerating. I doubt Sterling will be as good at his peak- but at this moment in time. Yes, I'd rather have Sterling than Rooney- he is more valuable to the side. Certainly puts in more effort.

If you tried to sell Rooney now, at the tail end of his career with the wages he is on, you'd get, what, £20mill for him max. Sterling, an up and coming promising starlet- we'd get more.

 

Sterling's more valuable than the Rupee.
