BBC - Liverpool make bid for Lallana

The tweet from Blackmore is a little ambiguous though. Sounds like someone probably did speak to him - but he didn't get the answer he wanted and then got stonewalled. If Liverpool want him, they can wait.

 

Can't say I'm going to ever be excited about one of ours getting called up again. Its like a little club of underhand business where the small fry get royally fuct. At least we won't be seeing Roy at ours for quite some time.

 

I did wonder this.

Ignore = Not really listening to his view, just re-iterating their view and that it won't change, not keen to hear his views on a club matter pre-WC/manager

OR

Ignore = Reject call or just let phone ring without picking up

 

It's not that Adam wants the move away, I get that, but it's just the way that it's being conducted. Not exactly acting like Captain of your club, leading by example, and showing how things should be done properly. Reflecting very badly on both the Board and Lallana.

 

blackmore is explaining it badly then. stated aim to move to liverpool.

 

If they're ignoring his calls (which I find hard to believe,) then he has a legitimate gripe. However, it's not like he's been a shining beacon of professionalism recently, is it?

 

If he wants to go he should go. I don't particularly want him here if he doesn't want to be here.

He doesnt want that - he wants to move to another club. He is not saying he isnt getting prasied for being a good footballer or having his ego massaged. The club are likely to want him.

We arent pampering to him and why should we - he is under contract.

I think the club also know he doesnt want to be here and will sell him so why do they need to pamper to him at his every whim and take his calls. Bollocks to him - he can wait until it is right for the Club.

Our Club have come under immense criticism - much of it on here for not having balls and being weak. The take a hard line and that seems also to be wrong...

I think the club are doing the right thing by distancing themselves...

 

Sorry, that was my bad, worded poorly. I meant it as that Lallana may want to stay, but want assurances etc, like we all do. He also may well want to move on. Dialogue is needed between the player and board.

Managing footballers must be very trying...highly paid, everything done for them, then they act like toddlers because they can't get what they want immediately. If you don't want contracts and would be happy to be paid a daily rate, you can have all the freedom you want...just remember that works both ways when you are laid up with a broken leg for 6 months.

 

Not something that you expect from your Captain is it...

still doesn't look that way to me though based on blackmore's information. Looks like he's set his stall out as a liverpool player and is somehow surprised the club no longer deals with him.

fonte and cork have reason to gripe in my book, though. they should just wait for the manager. i'm sure that will be resolved.

This line about no decisions or communication until the manager gets sorted is complete nonsense. Poch left less than a week ago and these problems have clearly been brewing for some time. Fonte made comments about the board's ambition in an interview at the end of April and Clyne also made some comments about no one in the dressing room knowing where their future lay before Poch left. Seems to me there's been a lack of communication for some time.

 

Just rewatched his last speech at the awards ceremony "i just want to keep progressing with the club and I hope the club can make strides in the summer" - just what has changed or is it just media hype?

Lallana saying he wants his future sorted could mean that he's not sure if club would keep him or offload him should a large enough bid come in. We assume he wants to go but we have no real evidence of this. Adam Blackmore could easily be spouting bullshit!

At least with the board saying no to Liverpools offer, they are showing Adam how much they think he is worth. Clearly more than Liverpool! Also as a boyhood toffee wouldn't he hate Liverpool? I'd never play for Pompey, not even to double my wages!

 

Exactly. I'm sure Adam wants to move on, part of him obviously wants to stay. Being in the England camp, with likes and Gerrard in his ear, isn't looking too good! Deal has to be right for both the club and player, can't let him go cheaply because he's been a loyal servant over the years (which we are all very grateful for).

 

If the purpose of his call is to demand to leave, I'm not picking up the phone, either.

He's under contract. I'm sure his agent has made his intentions quite clear. He wants to go, he's under contract. Board has decided. End of story.

 

That comment came hot off of his awkward behaviour, so maybe he was just redressing the balance.

The way I see it, Lallana wants Liverpool. His head has been turned. Rickie going there too will only have further re-enforced that view.

No Poch, no Rickie and he's spending a month or so with a fair lot of the Liverpool players. What a surprise that it has come to this.

 

no communication with fonte or cork is legitimate reason to be aggrieved. not getting a decision isn't.

adam is agitating for a move and as such i've no sympathy.
