I suppose at £1.6m he`s a cheap option for cover. Must admit I know nothing about the lad but wonder if we shouldn`t be aiming higher.
I bet you'll remember him when you see him mate. He's not outstanding but he's what I call a '90 minute' player ..... I've never seen him have a stinker.
Wrong man surely? Mancienne offers nothing going forward and has certainly spent the vast majority of is career as a CB. He does carry decent pace for a defender, and is reasonably comfotable on the ball, good attributes. He's only played RB as cover, same for DM, he is very much a CB 'by trade' as they say.
Yeah, I've said he's not an attacking player but he is capable of moving play up the field. IMO we need defenders & DM's who are comfortable carrying the ball. I just don't see him at Sunderland as an out and out centre half at Sunderland. Only time will ell I suppose and he's better there than Cuellar or Celustka.
I think he'll be looked at very much as a CB, with both he & Vergini seen as able to cover Jones at RB. He is comfortable on the ball, as is Vergini, as is Brown, this all bodes well. Seems Dawson may be available for around £2,5million, we'd be mad not to look at that.
Lads this is a great signing. A lot of my friends are Wolves fans and so I follow their progress quite a bit. This lad is a right footed version of Rose. I think he will be our RB next season with Jones as cover. He has loads of pace is strong in the tackle and is 100% committed. He is a footballer too and will knock the ball around comfortably. His only weakness is probably positional play as he can get caught out of position when going forward. Its just the sort of signing we need for Rb, and a big upgrade on what we have had recently. I trust Gus and I personally think he has done superbly here. Jones and Macienne or Bardo and Cesluska?? We have had a major upgrade and thats what improving the squad is all about. We just need to sign Alonso now.
I'd go for that, it's all gradually improving the all round quality of the squad. It's all well and good buying 2 'marquees' but a good quality of tents all over the field is better
Looking at this lads stats and he's only played rb once in his entire first team career. Played DM 3 or 4 times, rest of the time CB. Spent a lot of time crocked too.
He played right back for a season at QPR. I'm surprised you're in for him, he couldn't get into a fairly mediocre Hamburg side.
For the moment it's paper talk and nowt else ......... perhaps we're in for him or perhaps his agent's just touting for business.
He played rb for Wolves loads of times as well as DM. I am not sure where they get the stats from, this is a good signing trust me.
Dawson is close to top drawer when fit mate, would be a huge upgrade. Surprised we aren't linked, cos we have been every window for 3 years and now he's looking available.
