I agree Phill. The whole thing was mired in corruption from the beginning. The various FAs around the world don't want to play there and people are actually dying building the stadia. Money talks, unfortunately. :(

International teams should refuse to play the World Cup there. Imagine what FIFA would do if Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Italy, France, England etc decided to not attend this World Cup. If the teams won't do that, then individual players should. A World Cup without the best players in the world is something that FIFA can't live with.

If people are already dying building these stadia, then it's already proven to be one of the worst choices in World Cup history. No doubt that the deaths are probably related to the heat, slave-like conditions and lack of workers' rights. If I was a professional football player, I would be ashamed to play football in a country littered with the graves of ordinary people that died building the very stadium that I have to play in.

Football is meant to bring the world together, especially at the World Cup. Instead, they're happy to kill off innocent people (workers in the middle east are mostly from India and South East Asia - being half-filipino, this matter is close to my heart) in order to make a quick buck. Sickening. If this continues and goes ahead, I won't be watching it. Even if Wales qualify. Part of me is against the Brazil World Cup too - an absolute shambles over there.

FIFA is probably the most corrupt organisation in the world, having taken over the mantle from the IOC. The decision to hold the World Cup in Qatar was no surprise - but hopefully the backlash could be beneficial for football as a whole if the hierarchy of FIFA is cleansed.

The whole World Cup location selection process is corrupt (even amazes me more than the Eurovision song contest :)) and I cannot begin to describe how I feel about Sepp Blatta

Should never have been given the tournament. As everybody had all ready mentioned FIFA and Sepp Blater are so corrupt, it's no wonder they ever handed it to a country where it will be 50 deg c in the summer.

Hell even a junior school pupil, could tell you Qatar would be too hot for football.

Quatar should not have been awarded one of the biggest tournaments in the first place and football bodies of many countries were scratching their heads in disbelief when they did, the country is not suitable for a start and in my own opinion should now be scrapped while there is enough time for another much more suitable venue in another country to put the greatest show on earth on. If it goes ahead in Quatar then the guys running FiFa should be strung up by their balls from the nearest tree...

It's incredible how they get away with this corruption. They obviously think they're untouchable. Every single post on this thread is condemning and everyone knows it's obscene but it's business as usual for them. Amazing.

The Vice President of FIFA has suggested if the vote was rigged which we all bloody know full well that it was, then the vote might be void and a re vote ordered.
For me given the climate of the worlds economies I would prefer to see such tournaments held in Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain or the USA where the infrastructure is already in place as it is appalling how much money Brazil have spent when they are not improving health, education and public services there.

Those deaths are on Fifa's hands. Must have a re-vote or as others have said boycott the tournament.
