Without a doubt he is the real deal! I've not seen all the thread on this but I would love to know the stats on our results in Prem when no Adam playing vs Adam playing - my personal view is we would be somewhere between 13 and 17 without him but I'd love to be proved wrong!
I hope he stays but every professional in all walks of life want to test themselves at the next level and to earn more ( I've changed jobs twice in 18 months to do that) so can't deny him if that is the case after all he has done for us!

In all honesty I think the Liverpool players in the England squad have done their fair share of tapping up. Roy Hodgson also didn't help the way he said Lambert was boosted by his move to Liverpool (even though it hadn't happened yet, and still hasn't officially). As for Liverpool apparently giving a take it or leave it ultimatum on Lallana, who do they think they are and they can bugger off! Their timing over their move for Rickie was tactless bearing in mind we had only just lost our manager a couple of days before. Perhaps I am wrong to feel this way and perhaps I need to accept that my team are only 'little' Southampton who just need to roll over and provide the top four/six with our players. No chance...... Despite all he's done I'd still say no. He's 26 and has time; right now we need our captain to be a captain and rally the troops.

I think Fran pointed it out earlier that Adam is happy to mention how he had offers when we were in administration but stuck with the club because they stuck with him and his heart surgery etc
Now this club needs him again to help steady the ship and as Captain that's part of his responsibility. Now that responsibility may only need to last until after the world cup and when we have a new manager and a new hope, but leaving the club now after the manager and club legend would be irresponsible

So if he leaves, Clattenburg was right.

I think we should raise the price to 40 million each....there is still a danger that someone would pay it :) Good that we are making a stance and not being rolled over...would rather it was a no sale stance, but better than nothing.

Yes, the longer England stay in the tournament, the longer our players will be ours.

If we're really turning offers this size down, I'm tempted to guess that Lallana isn't making much of a fuss about leaving. He may be happy to stay. When you look at how eagerly we seemed to accept bids for a want-away Lambert, this seems to be a reasonable thought.

Did we ever get to the bottom of why Rickie was "want away" if this goes back as far as January?

it settled on unconfirmed speculation that it was financially motivated, didn't it?

maybe we're a) not prepared to give him a long term contract or b) the length of contract on offer elsewhere doubles up on what we're offering him in total.

    west ham are pretty disgusting.

Well in my mind, predicting that Kat will sell is very positive.

As such a late comer to success, signing a fat contract at WHU would have been a big pension top up........still sounds disgusting though!

Thanks, I missed that. I am a little surprised at this. Does it suggest that NC asked for a big deal for him and was turned down?
